Amaroli speaks Hindi. Not the controls with English behind them. Every word: the record card, Look back, the patterns, Settings, the backup and restore messages, the reminder, the widget, and The Path in full. The practice's organized community is largely Indian, and there was no version of this worth shipping that translated the buttons and left the reading in another language. If you read English, nothing has changed. Every screen was rendered before and after and compared, and the English is identical to the pixel.

Logging a day was meant to be one tap, and it wasn't. The Log button sat below eight fields and a full-height monument, roughly two screens down, so you had to go looking for it. Now the three things you fill in most are at the top and the button is right under them. Everything else about the practice sits behind a line you can open, and stays open once you do. Open it and the card grows underneath the button, so a day described in thirteen fields keeps Log exactly where a day described in three does. There is a second Log at the foot of the card too, for when you have gone down there to write a note. Amaroli also follows the text size you set on your phone now. Every font used to be fixed, which was a poor showing from an app that asks you to read.

Amaroli has always tried to notice patterns in your days. Now there are more things you can record, if you want to: how you slept, whether you were unwell, how long it had been since you ate, whether what you drank was aged, whether you used it on your skin. All optional. And my favorite new feature: if you keep writing the same word in your notes, the app offers to make it a question of its own. E.g. write "sauna" on five different mornings and it asks whether you want sauna as a permanent field. Say yes and it gets tracked like anything I put there myself. You can keep four of your own at a time. Your notes still never leave your phone.

Until now there was no way to contact me from inside the app. There is now. After 30 logged days, Amaroli asks once how the practice is going, and gives you two options: email me, or leave a review. It asks again at 200 days if you ignore it, then stops asking. Settings also has both links permanently at the bottom. The daily reminder is now offered on your first logged day. Most people never found it in Settings. It is still off by default.

Settings could say your practice was already in iCloud when it was not there yet. It now tells you plainly where the copy is. Small wording fixes throughout the app.

You can now keep a copy of your practice in your own iCloud. Turn it on in Settings, under Your data. If you set up a new phone, Amaroli offers to bring your days back. No account, no sign-in. The copy sits in your iCloud, not ours.
