Group chats are here. • Message everyone with one position, like all your cooks, without pinging the drivers. People join and leave the group automatically as their positions change. • Or make your own group: name it, pick the people, and change who's in it any time. Each message shows who sent it, and notifications name the group. Managers start groups from Messages > Chat > New message. Also new: the sales forecast now spots holidays that run against your usual pattern, like a quiet Thanksgiving, from your own sales history.

This update changes how overtime works in Canada. Being salaried no longer means no overtime: what removes it is being a manager, and Shiftova now follows each province's own rule for managers. Mark managers in Team, Onboarding. Salaried employees who aren't managers earn overtime on top of their salary, at an hourly rate worked out from it. Also new: • Premium pay for hours worked on a statutory holiday, following each province's rule • Admins can see everyone's approved time off week by week, and are warned when a new request falls in a week where others are already off • Employees can see the whole team's schedule, not just their own shifts • The sales forecast now accounts for the days around stat holidays and shows how far off it typically is • A faster admin dashboard Fixes: new shifts no longer open with a position already picked, and deactivated employees no longer appear on payroll reports for periods they didn't work.

This update adds a full labor-law reference built right into Shiftova, for every US state plus DC and every Canadian province and territory: minimum wage, tips and tip pooling, meal and rest breaks, young-worker hours, pay practices, scheduling extras and licensing. Find it under Team, "Restaurant labor rules." Overtime now follows each region's own rules, including British Columbia's daily double-time. Paid sick leave accrues automatically where the law requires it, and admins can mark an employee overtime-exempt. Also in this update: assign positions to an employee during onboarding, admin schedule shifts are now split by position, the add-shift employee list narrows to the chosen position, and several smaller accuracy fixes.

• Admins can now step back through past pay periods on the Hours screens to review and correct time entries after a cycle closes. • Onboarding documents open in a full-screen viewer inside Shiftova, with pinch-to-zoom on iPhone. • Missed-shift reminders on the Team tab now stay dismissed instead of coming back each time you reopen the app. • Past blackout dates are hidden from the time-off screens.

• Fixes a rare black screen when opening the app. If your account can't load right away, Shiftova now shows a clear message with a Try again button. • Admins can attach photos of an employee's onboarding documents (take a photo or choose one) as a private digital record. • Admins can set blackout dates that block time-off requests. • Admins can delete a position they no longer need. • Manually adjust a day's forecasted sales for a known big order. • Back buttons on the Hours detail and Payroll reports screens.

This update adds a few tools to help you run a tighter schedule: • Task checklists — Attach a short checklist to any shift (e.g. "restock napkins," "deep clean fryer"). Employees check items off as they go; admins see completion status at a glance. • Shift suggestions — When scheduling an empty shift, Shiftova can suggest who usually works that day based on past patterns. Turn this off anytime in Settings. • Schedule drift alerts — If someone consistently clocks in earlier or later than scheduled, get a one-tap suggestion to adjust their shift time to match. • Calendar sync — Employees can opt in to have published shifts appear on their phone's calendar automatically. • Rename your profile — Update your display name anytime from Settings. • Weekly labor log — Track your labor cost goal vs. actual, week over week. Plus performance improvements and bug fixes.
