DoseBeacon is a pill reminder and family medication tracker for aging parents and the people who help them. Large-text reminders for the person taking medication, plus a shared record of reported doses for approved caregivers.
SIMPLE, SENIOR-FRIENDLY REMINDERS
Senior Mode shows one large, high-contrast card at a time with four clear choices: LOG AS TAKEN, LATER, NOT SURE and I NEED HELP. Read-aloud, Dynamic Type and VoiceOver are supported. Reminders are scheduled on the device, so they work without internet. Senior Mode never shows ads or purchase screens.
ONE MEDICATION LIST
Keep prescriptions, over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and supplements in one place. Scan a pharmacy label to create a draft with on-device text recognition, then check every field before any reminder turns on. Archive medicines without losing their history.
FAMILY CARE CIRCLE
Invite siblings, a spouse or a home caregiver. A circle code only sends a join request: you approve it, choose a role (manager, dose-logging helper or read-only family) and can revoke any device. When phones are online, reported doses are shared with approved members. Every screen shows when it last updated.
DOSE HANDSHAKE
Tap "I'm handling this" so others know who is on it. A claim is never shown as a dose given. If two people report the same dose, it's flagged "Needs review" instead of being overwritten.
CLEAR HISTORY
Every report keeps who made it, on which device and when. A dose nobody has reported is shown as "Not confirmed yet", never "missed". Corrections add to the history; nothing is silently erased.
BEACON QUESTS
Light up a lighthouse by getting organized: add medications, choose a helper, review the emergency card, save pharmacy details and preview a report. Sparkles, soft sounds and level-up moments make setup feel good. Quests reward honest records, including "Not sure" and asking for help. No streaks, nothing to lose, and never a nudge to take more medication.
REFILLS, REPORTS AND EMERGENCY CARD
Track medication on hand and refill dates with clearly labelled estimates. Export a 7, 30 or 90-day PDF for doctor visits, and keep a printable emergency medication card with allergies, conditions and contacts.
COMMON QUESTIONS
Is DoseBeacon free? Yes. Reminders, 1 patient, 2 active medications, 1 helper, full history, reports and the emergency card are free.
Can several family members share one schedule? Yes, with a Care Circle. Each helper needs DoseBeacon on an iPhone or iPad.
Does it need internet? Reminders work offline. Sharing needs a connection.
Can I delete my data? Yes, anytime from Settings.
DOSEBEACON FAMILY
Unlimited active medications, more caregivers and the Dose Handshake: $8.99/month or $59.99/year. Eligible new subscribers can start with a 7-day free trial, and we remind you before it ends. Payment is charged to your Apple Account and renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period. Manage or cancel in Settings. If you stop subscribing, your records stay.
PRIVACY
Your data stays on your device unless you create or join a Care Circle. Shared data is encrypted in transit and visible only to approved devices. Medicine names are hidden on the lock screen by default. No ads, no data selling.

DoseBeacon is a reminder and record-keeping app, not a medical device, and it does not give medical advice or recommend doses. A logged dose is a report, not proof a medicine was taken. Notifications and sharing depend on device settings and connectivity. If you're unsure about a dose, ask a pharmacist or prescriber.
