One AI-generated scene of a real historical event. No caption, no date, no place name. Work out where in the world it happened — and when.
HOW A ROUND WORKS
• Study the scene: architecture, clothing, technology, the light, what the people are doing
• Drop a pin on the world map
• Enter the year
• 60 seconds, then whatever you have entered is submitted
SCORING
Up to 1,000 points a round. 500 for location: full marks for spot-on, sliding to zero at 2,000 km away. 500 for the year: full marks for exact, sliding to zero at 100 years off. Near misses still score, so a half-formed hunch is always worth pinning.
THEN THE STORY
The best part comes after the guess. Every event opens into a short account of what happened and why it mattered — why that place, why that year, what came next. Lose a round and learn something anyway.
DAILY CHALLENGE
Five events a day, the same five for everyone, new at midnight. Build a streak and keep it alive.
TOPICS
Rather have your history in themes?

TOURNAMENT
Challenge a friend to the same five events. You each play on your own phone, whenever it suits you, on the same 60-second clock. You only see their guess on an event once you have played it yourself. Highest total wins; ties go to year accuracy, then distance. A challenge lasts 7 days.
ABOUT THE IMAGES
Every clue image is AI-generated to depict a real historical event. It is an artistic interpretation, not a photograph — faces and fine details may not be accurate to what happened or who was there. The events, the places and the years are real.
Free to play, no ads. Topics and Tournament need a free account (Sign in with Apple); solo rounds and the Daily Challenge do not.
