Looking for a restaurant near you? A five-star average tells you it's "4.2". It doesn't tell you whether the tteokbokki is actually spicy, or whether the pho tastes like someone's grandmother made it. Flavora is a local restaurant finder that replaces the star rating with a palate lens. Pick the cuisine you know best - Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Mexican, Italian, Ethiopian and a dozen more - and every spot gets re-scored through people who know that food the same way you do. A Korean restaurant rated 8.1 for spice across all reviewers might sit at 3.5 through a Korean palate, and that gap is the most useful thing on the page. WHAT YOU CAN DO - See flavor, not stars. Every review scores what food actually does - spice, richness, authenticity - on descriptive scales. No "3 out of 5 stars" for a bowl of noodles. - Switch your palate lens. See a spot through your own palate, or through anyone else's. The numbers change. That's the point. - Find hidden gems and local restaurants near you. Real maps, real distances, and community pins for the places that never show up in a "best of" listicle. Browse by category - burgers, BBQ, sushi, ramen, tacos, bubble tea - or search any cuisine. - Drop a pin on a spot you love. Add a photo, name the dish, and put a place on the map that nobody else has found yet. - Review any restaurant. Search anywhere and leave a palate review on any business - not just the ones already in our database. - Tag the vibe. Worth the wait, big portions, no English menu, takeout only, solo friendly - the practical details a star rating flattens. THE PLACES WE'RE LOOKING FOR Somewhere near you there is a counter at the back of a grocery store, or a family kitchen with four tables and no website, cooking food worth crossing town for - to a half-empty room. Not because the food isn't good. Because nobody with a marketing budget ever mentioned them, and one number out of five was never going to explain why they're worth the trip. Those places don't need a better algorithm. They need somebody to walk in, eat, and say something. IT RUNS ENTIRELY ON PEOPLE Flavora is only ever as good as the people on it. Every pin is somebody who walked in. Every score is somebody who actually ate the food. Ask "which dish should I order?" and the answers come from people who have sat at that table. Found somewhere worth keeping? Put it on the map - a photo, the dish to order, why it matters - and the next person searching gets to find it too. Answer one question from somebody who's nervous about ordering. Upvote the dish nobody warned you about. A review takes two minutes. It can fill a dining room. OUR PROMISE Restaurants cannot buy their way up this app. No paid rankings. No bought reviews. No burying criticism. A restaurant cannot pay us to rank higher, to delete a review it dislikes, or to appear in results it hasn't earned - because every ranking is computed from the people who actually ate there and nothing else. If we ever show you something a business paid for, it will say so plainly, it will sit outside the rankings, and it will not move a single score. That promise is worth most to the small places. They cannot outspend a chain - so we made spending irrelevant to the only thing that matters. We would rather be small and trusted than big and bought. WHY WE BUILT IT The best food in most cities is cooked by people with no marketing budget and no review score worth trusting. Averaging every opinion into one number buries exactly the spots worth finding. Flavora keeps the disagreement - because whose palate rated it is more useful than what they rated it. Flavora is new, and the community is small and growing. That is not a disclaimer, it is the invitation: right now, the places you add are the app. Find something good? Pin it. Somebody's week is about to get better.

Tapping a notification now takes you straight to the spot, even when Flavora was closed. The update card on Home is driven by the App Store itself, so it appears as soon as a new version is out. New in Settings: a switch for the been-there-yet reminders about spots you saved.
