RAN Locate is private, consent-based location sharing for families and for the businesses that run on the road. You choose who can see you, which group they see you in, and when sharing stops.
FOR YOUR BUSINESS
Switch to a business workspace that stays completely separate from your family groups. See your whole crew live on one map with battery levels and last update times. Save job sites and get automatic arrival and departure alerts for every visit. Schedule appointments against a job site, assign the right worker, and follow each visit from scheduled to arrived to complete. Send your customer a tracking text with a live link before you arrive, so they know exactly when to expect you. Save vehicle details for the team and keep a record of every arrival and departure.
PRIVATE GROUPS
Create separate groups for Family, Home, Friends, a Trip, an Event, or work. Each group is independent, with its own members and its own sharing setting. Invite people with a six-character group code, a scan-to-join QR code, or by picking a contact. Family members can be labeled Mom, Dad, Son, Daughter, Grandparent, Partner or Friend, and admins control who can invite and who can manage the group.
LIVE MAP
See everyone who is sharing with you on one map, along with the place they are at, how long they have been there, and their battery level. Turn your own sharing on or off per group at any time, or pause it for an hour, until tomorrow, or until you resume.
SHARE A TRIP WITH ANYONE
Send a private link to someone who does not have the app. They see your live progress, ETA, planned route with stops, and the vehicle to expect, and nothing else. Choose whether the link stops when you arrive or after a set time. Every link includes a private chat with text and voice notes, so phone numbers stay hidden. Recipients can opt in to a text message when you arrive.
SAFETY
Smart SOS: press and hold to start a countdown, then share your location continuously with your group and see who has acknowledged.
Local emergency numbers for 176 countries, matched automatically to where you are, with a manual override while travelling.
Family emergency contacts for one-tap calling or messaging.
Safe-arrival check-in: pick a destination and the people to notify, then confirm you are safe when you get there.
Battery alerts, including early low-battery warnings, plus quiet hours with a critical bypass.
PLACES AND ARRIVAL ALERTS
Save places such as home, school or work, set the geofence radius, and choose who is notified when someone arrives or leaves. Fine-tune each place with a confirmation delay, an alert cooldown, and quiet hours. Every place keeps its own arrival and departure history.
DRIVING
Automatic drive detection builds a daily driving history with mileage and a full trip replay, plus a safety overview covering hard braking, rapid acceleration, speed cap, night driving, home zone exit, and phone usage while driving.
MESSAGING
Group chat and direct messages with emoji, voice notes, and read receipts.
FOR TEENS AND YOUNGER FAMILY MEMBERS
Group admins can protect a member until age 18 or 21. Protected members cannot turn off sharing, pause it, or delete their own history. A daily teen privacy window can share only an approximate zone during the hours you choose.
IMPORTANT
RAN Locate uses location in the background so the groups you choose can see where you are while you are sharing. Continued use of background location may reduce battery life. Sharing is per group, and you can pause or turn it off at any time. Some alerts are delivered by SMS.
