Ask on every iPhone. Asking about the recipe you're cooking now works on every iPhone and iPad. With Apple Intelligence, the answer is still made on your device. Ready for iPhone Duo. Open it and the cook's video sits beside the step you're on. Sharper photos. A recipe saved from a recipe page keeps the page's full photo, and the small ones already in your recipe book are replaced. A creator's YouTube channel. A creator you know by their website now links to their YouTube channel too. Names that read right. A creator who writes their name in capitals is shown the way you would write it. Plus smaller fixes that make importing recipes more reliable.

Ask about this recipe. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, ask a question about the recipe you're cooking, right at the step you're on. Five more recipes a week. After your first 30, a recipe book without Plus gets five more recipes every week, each with everything Plus does. Start with a creator. A new recipe book opens on cooks to start from. A creator's page now links to their channel and their website, and can show only the recipes you have not saved. A faster start. PocketCook opens straight to your recipes. Plus smaller fixes that make importing recipes more reliable.

A new first step. Tell PocketCook where your first recipe is coming from, and it shows you the quickest way in, with a short video of how it works. Your first 30 recipes get everything. The first 30 recipes in your recipe book come with everything Plus does. Dessert after dinner. Add a dessert to a meal and it waits until the rest is on the table, instead of finishing with the steak. Videos that wait for you. When a cooking video moves faster than you, PocketCook pauses it until you're ready. Plus smaller fixes that make importing recipes and cooking along with a video more reliable.

Share to PocketCook. Tap Share on a YouTube video or a recipe page and choose PocketCook to save the recipe. Safer sharing. Only the phone that shares a recipe can change its photos. Plus fixes that make importing, sharing and Plus on a second phone more reliable.

Recipe cards. Take a photo of a handwritten card, front and back, and it becomes a recipe with the card as its picture. Evenings that share the kitchen. Two dishes that need the blender or the food processor now take turns, and a steak rests while the pasta finishes. Better timings. "Overnight" counts as a night, and a step with two waits counts both. Easier to read. The largest text sizes wrap instead of cutting words off, and Reduce Motion fades instead of sliding. Plus fixes, like amounts adding up when two recipes on the list share an ingredient, fresh basil and thyme staying on the shopping list, and ingredient lists staying with the dish they belong to.

Cook by part. Tap the part's name at the top of the screen to jump to any other part. Each one keeps your place. Watch before you save. A video recipe plays on the sheet that asks whether to save it. The dishes on your order. The Shop tab lists them, a tap takes one off, and any item can be looked up on Amazon. A smarter list. Two halves of an onion come to one onion, and you choose whether to buy both of two matching lines. Plan further ahead. Give a Sometime dish any date. Dinners past this week sit under Later. Plus fixes, like a fried dish cooking last in a meal so it comes out hot, video sync showing as soon as a recipe loads, and timers for times written in words.

Opens faster. A big recipe book no longer holds the app on a blank screen while it works out every recipe's time. The right product more often. Shopping lines match the products you buy more reliably, and a one-word line like "flour" is offered as a guess to check. Eggs and yolks are one line. A meal that wants eggs and an egg yolk buys the eggs once. List mode groups like the order. Lines that buy the same product show as one row, and one tick marks them all. Your own numbers stay. Filling in a recipe keeps the servings and times it already states. Long steps, one job at a time. A step that does several things, like preheat the oven, grease the pan and toast the nuts, is now that many steps. It is split where its sentences end, on the recipe and at the stove, in the author's own words. Every recipe from a video's recipe page. A video whose description links a page listing its recipes now brings each of them, as it does when the description links them one by one. A recipe someone sends you opens like one you pasted, with its picture, a name you can change and one button to save it. Tags on every recipe. A recipe that arrives without tags has them filled in with the rest of its details. Long cooks show up front. A recipe with a slow cooker, a braise or a smoker going ahead of time shows that time beside tonight's. Creators, on one screen. Your first five creators, then the recommended ones right under them, with the rest of yours a tap away. A video PocketCook has already watched is ready at once. Its recipe comes with every step marked in the video, with no second wait while it is gathered again. Older recipes follow their video by themselves. Where PocketCook has watched a recipe's video, the recipe takes that reading, including its steps and their place in the video, with nothing to press. Your name, notes and photo stay. A recipe you already have takes a correction. When a recipe's video has been read again and checked, your copy picks that version up. The video is on the getting-ready page too, with the auto-advance switch under it, on an evening cooking more than one thing. Fixed. A dish's steps follow the order its video cooks them, the recipe page's video plays again after you cook, and moving between videos on a two-dish evening no longer stalls. Fixed. A recipe opening with a preheat no longer sends the video to the moment the food goes in. Nobody films the preheat. Fixed. A recipe read from a video keeps what the video said, even when the page it was read from already looked complete. Fixed. Splitting a recipe names each new one after the part you pointed the others at, not after whichever part came first in the video. A part that is only a shopping list can be the dish. A video whose last section, "For the garlic parm wings", holds only the ingredients, with the method in the sections above it, now offers those wings as a recipe to group the rest under. One part can belong to every dish that needs it. A wings video with three levels and one batch of chicken prep gives all three the prep, instead of one of them. The video's cautions are kept. What to check for done, what to do if something browns too fast and the alternatives it offers come across as tips under the step they belong to. Fixed. A video you have taken some recipes out of offers to read it again instead of opening one you already have. Fixed. A recipe's closing part, like "To serve" or "To assemble", is its own part again instead of the end of the step before it. Fixed. An ingredient written "1 and 1/2 cups" stays one line, and a recipe's first ingredients stay with its first part. Fixed. A step that says "1.5 hours" is an hour and a half, not five. Fixed. A recipe read from a video is named for its dish, never "Here is the recipe:". Fixed. A creator's video you saved some recipes from offers the rest again, instead of opening one you have.

Following the video, one step at a time. Each step now stays on screen for at least five seconds before the video moves the recipe on, so quick steps no longer flash past, and going back to one holds it there too. Fixed. A step that only mentions the oven, like preheating it, no longer sends the video ahead to the moment the dish goes in. What someone else in your household changes now shows up when you come back to the app, without closing it first, and a recipe they save arrives with its picture and at the top of your book.

The recipe follows the video. Paste a video whose creator says when each step happens and the steps carry those moments. Move the recipe on and the video jumps to that step; let the video play and the recipe keeps up. It is on by default and there is a switch for it in the video options. Tell the app what your kitchen has. Only the surprising part: say you have no microwave, or that you do have a stand mixer, and the instructions you copy for an assistant carry it. A kitchen that matches what an assistant already assumes says nothing at all, which is the point. A shopping row that is nearly a match says so. Where the list has something close to what a recipe asked for, the row reads "possible match found" and its menu offers the ones it knows about, so you pick rather than guess. The items that are going now say which shop they are going to. Recipes from older food blogs. A blog that publishes its recipe the way WordPress has for years — no recipe card, just the markup underneath — now reads. Smitten Kitchen is the one you have probably tried. Steps start where the sentence starts. A creator who writes "Step 2" on its own line and the instruction underneath was leaving every step after the first with a blank line above it, and the step numbers drawn a line high. Creators to start with, measured. The creators a new book is offered were each put through the reader first. Two that could not be read on either their channel or their own site came off the list, and seven that read well went on. Fixed. A recipe whose steps state their own times no longer has a stretch of getting-ready invented in front of them. A dish in a meal no longer arrives out of order, and nothing is now scheduled to be carved while it is still in the oven. A part that needs two other parts waits for both. An ingredient group whose heading is a plain line — "To finish" — keeps its own ingredients instead of lending them to the group above. A step is no longer dropped from a recipe read off a page. A recipe read by watching the video no longer carries calorie figures the video never stated. A shared recipe book with more than a thousand entries now arrives whole. Pressing Start cooking now plays the video, so moving between steps no longer leaves it on a black screen. Pasting a video you have already saved some dishes from marks those as saved and saves only the rest. A shared recipe link now saves even when PocketCook is already open.

One time, everywhere. A recipe's page, its row in the book, the week and the cook screen all show the same length now. Where a recipe says how long it takes, the app sizes its own guesses to that — and where the recipe's steps don't account for all of it, the difference shows as getting ready, before step one. Recipes you paste open straight away when the paste holds just the one. A round-up's own recipe is on the list too. When one video holds several recipes, the one you pasted sits with the rest, so you can skip it like any other. Follow whoever sent you here. Open a shared recipe on a new book and keeping it follows the creator who made it. The line above Save says so first, and Don't follow is right beside it. Get ready when that part starts. A recipe made in parts — a dough, then a filling — puts each later part's chopping on its own page just before that part begins, instead of all at the start. Short steps count as short. A step that doesn't say how long it takes is judged by what it asks you to do, so "Serve warm." counts as a minute rather than three. Creators to start with. A new recipe book offers a few creators to begin from, and a recipe's page names who made it. A saved link opens its recipe, and Share sits at the top right of a recipe's page. Fixed. An amount written two ways, like "1 cup + 2 tbsp", stays one ingredient. The footer under a recipe card no longer ends up in its method. A video you deleted stays out of New from your creators. Deleting a recipe no longer mentions a second person when nobody else shares your book.

Plus reads the recipe out of the video. When a video's description doesn't write the recipe down, Plus watches the video and writes it in for you, and fills in what any recipe leaves out while keeping its own ingredients. Your recipe book is backed up from the start, from the first time you open the app, so a lost phone isn't a lost book. Sign in with Apple and it comes back on a new one. Privacy has its own page in Settings, with the sharing switch, the privacy policy and this phone's id. Follow websites as well as channels. A site you follow shows its new recipes on the Recipes tab, and a creator's page keeps loading older posts as you scroll, with search across everything they have made. Buy what the creator used. When a video's description links the pan or the knife they cooked with, the recipe offers that exact product, through their own link. Cooking gets quieter. The ingredients a step does not use fold away under a count, one tap from opening. A timer the recipe gives as a range lets you choose the length. A marinade the recipe says to start ahead comes first. The numbers agree. An evening's total time and hands-on time are the same on the week, the meal and the Cook tab. The app tells you when there is a newer version. Fixed. Opening the app no longer pauses while pictures catch up. Signing in on a new phone keeps the recipe book you already had. An egg and an egg yolk go to the cart as one carton rather than two. A large onion is no longer matched to large eggs. A recipe that says "Waiting: 20–25 min" waits twenty minutes, not forty-five.

Follow the creators you cook from. A recipe read from a video now knows who made it, and Recipes can show one creator's at a time. Follow someone and their new videos show up on the Recipes tab — tap one and it arrives as a recipe, the same as a pasted link. A creator can be a website too. A recipe pasted from somebody's own site is credited to the site by the name it gives itself. Creators, under the search on the Recipes tab, lists everyone you cook from — tap one to see what they have made lately, whether you follow them or not. Instagram reels play in the recipe. A recipe read from a reel, or from a page that carries one, opens with the reel at the top and keeps the post's own picture. The Recipes tab is simpler. The row of tags is gone — search still finds a tag by name — and Favorites and Creators sit right under it. Start cooking is a big button again, at the foot of every recipe. A video that lists its dishes is read as those dishes. A description that runs through four salads without a single heading — just the names, then what goes in each — used to come back as one recipe holding everything. The names in the caption are enough now, and each dish arrives with its own ingredients, its own steps and its own place in the video. A recipe whose write-up never states a title is kept under the dish's name rather than refused. Before, a caption that plainly said what it was making but put the name nowhere the reader recognised was thrown away whole. A TITLE SHOUTED IN CAPITALS comes back readable. Fixed. Editing a recipe kept what each part needs before it can start. A lasagna whose assembly waits on the sauce came back waiting on nothing, so the evening ran in whatever order suited — and nothing had to be typed wrong for it to happen, only saved. Fixed. A video whose description is all links and gear is no longer read as a recipe made of them. One steak video arrived as eleven steps of somebody's knives and torches, with the channel's postal address on the shopping list. Where a video has nothing written down, it is kept as the video and says so.

**Send somebody a dinner and they cook it the way you would.** A shared meal now opens the same run you get here — the dishes in the order a cook would do them, each step with its own clock and what it needs to hand. On an iPhone that is the app itself, without installing anything; on anything else it is the page the link opens. **A video that cooks three dishes can be three recipes.** When a link arrives holding more than one, PocketCook says so and lets you decide which parts belong together — and a round-up reads the rest of them itself, one at a time, filling in as it goes. The same choice is in a recipe's menu afterwards, for the videos it kept as one. Each dish opens the video where it starts. Take four salads out of one video and each one's play button lands on its own, rather than at the top of thirteen minutes. **At the stove the video plays under the step it belongs to.** One button, one surface, and the step you are on is the step you are watching. On an iPad it takes the room it deserves. **The evening is ordered the way somebody standing in a kitchen would order it.** Work that wants no pan is done while a pot boils rather than after it: on one three-dish dinner that is twelve minutes off the evening, and on another, ten. Dishes are finished nearer the table — a pork loin is no longer sliced and sauced half an hour before anybody eats. The oven goes on just before the dish that needs it. A joint resting is time you can spend, not a gap to fill. Dishes the run cannot fit into an order are named before the cooking starts, rather than quietly left out. Editing a recipe now begins with its video: the link, the moment it starts, and the video itself, so a time you type is one you can watch. **Your first recipe has two doors.** Paste a link and PocketCook reads it, or copy the instructions into an assistant and paste the reply back. Both are on the first screen, and neither is an aside. **Recipes shared with a photograph now carry it.** A link unfurls as the dish rather than as our name. **PocketCook will offer to remind you** the night before something wants starting early, or when a week is planned and nothing has been bought. It asks once, at a moment where it has something to say. A link that has no recipe in it is kept as the video, with the name and a place to write the rest in, instead of being refused. A recipe hiding in a video's pinned comment is found. So is one behind a page's contents list. Pasting a TikTok is paused. The ones that worked were the ones whose caption happened to hold a list, and too many arrived as a recipe with nothing in it. YouTube and recipe pages are unchanged. The phone reads your recipes itself and marks them — what they are, and what is worth knowing before you start — without sending them anywhere. **Smaller things.** The recipe book gives every recipe a card, whether or not it has a photograph. A shopping line is edited where it is written, and rows can be dragged. "Zest of a lemon" is not something the shop sells, so it is not on the list. The free book's limit is a number you can tap. Deleting the app signs you out, if you signed in — so a reinstall is a fresh start rather than the same book back. Every screen's name is set in the app's own face. **And two that were wrong.** "Your recipe book is full" no longer flashes on launch at somebody who has Plus. Nothing is saved from a link until you press Save.

A wait is no longer counted as your hands. A dough "left to sit at room temp for 90 minutes" was reading as ninety minutes of work, because *sit* was the one resting word missing from the list, so a bake that is almost entirely proofing claimed nearly two hours of standing over it. A step that mentions another step's minutes stops claiming them. "Preheat the oven during the final 20 minutes of the second rise" opened the evening with a twenty-minute wait that does not exist, and the glaze was lifted into it — so monkey bread had you making the glaze before the dough was stirred. The timeline stacks during a wait. A part of a dish lifted into that dish's own gap now draws inside it and costs the evening nothing, instead of being drawn after the wait and charged on top of it. A recipe's own stated time heads its page. It was being headed with a figure worked out from counting the steps, so a recipe that plainly said forty-five minutes could be titled with something else. Recipes pasted without any headings read properly. The shopping list ends at the blank line before the method, and nine ingredients no longer arrive as three with the rest mixed into the cooking.

If the app ever stops responding and gets closed, it now tells us where it was stuck, using the reporting iOS already does. Nothing you have written is part of that, and it follows the same switch in Settings as everything else. Getting to the cook screens is quick again, and starting a meal no longer hangs. Scheduling an evening was re-reading every remaining step for every step, so a two-dish dinner took a fifth of a second to plan and the cook screen planned it a dozen times over. It is worked out once now. The meal screen shows the amounts for the number you set, not the number the recipe was written for. It had been showing the recipe's own while the shopping list it wrote held the meal's — so a dinner doubled for eight listed 340 g of linguine and shopped for 680 g, with nothing saying which was dinner. The cook screen's before-you-start list was the same way. The evening's total now says what the timeline under it ends at. Two figures for one evening, a thumb's width apart and sometimes eighteen minutes different, are one figure now; a recipe's own times keep their own page. A recipe with several parts that doesn't say which comes first now runs them in the order written and says so above the method, with the marker that would change it. Where one part says "serve immediately", it runs last, and the note says that instead. One pasted recipe served its sauce at minute nine and had its pork ready at minute 181. A recipe whose method adds something its ingredient list never names now asks about it, under the list: “Does this need pasta?” One pasted recipe added cooked pasta and listed none, and the shop built from its lines could not make the dish. An evening's total and its hands-on time now agree. Hands-on is time spent inside the total, so it can no longer read longer than the evening it happens in. A dinner of several dishes is timed the way it actually runs: never shorter than its longest dish, never shorter than the work its recipes state, and settled between cooking everything in turn and overlapping all of it perfectly. A braise still takes the braise's time whatever else is on the stove. A step that begins "Tip the …" is a step again. It was being read as a tip and left out of the run, so a dough never went into its pan and a soup never met its stock. A step you marked as hands-on is never treated as a wait, whatever words it uses. A seared fillet is cooked last, not slotted under a risotto. Both phones now run the same dinner the same way. A step's stated time is planned with the same clock it is cooked by, so the two no longer disagree about when a side dish should start.

Have it ready. Before the first step, the app now lists what to chop, grate and zest — read out of the ingredients you already pasted, so nothing new to write. The dish that has to be eaten straight away is cooked last. Scallops, fish and anything fried are held until everything else is done rather than slotted into another dish's wait and left sitting. An evening can run a few minutes longer for it, which is the trade a cook makes on purpose. How long an evening takes now leads with the recipe's own figure rather than the app's arithmetic, which was adding a flat few minutes for every step and reading half again as long as the cook actually took. Where a recipe declares a long wait, the wait still wins. A timer that has finished pulses at the top of the screen, and tapping it shows the step it came from — the one that said what temperature you were aiming for. Ask your assistant for a recipe again and it can now say which steps are real work — kneading, rolling pasta, breaking down a chicken. Those steps take the time they say instead of a flat guess. A part of a recipe called "Topping", "Garnish" or "Assembly" is read as a heading rather than bought as an ingredient, and the ingredients under it stay where they belong. What you would change next time can be written from the recipe itself, whenever you think of it, instead of only on the screen that appears the moment you stop cooking. Your book opens on what you added last, the way the meal builder already did. Delete a recipe from the list with a long press. Step back from the end of a cook and it is no longer marked as made. Type a name and it searches your whole book. A category you tapped earlier now steps aside while there is anything in the search box, and greys out to say so — so a filter you have scrolled past can no longer hide a recipe you asked for by name. Clear the box and your categories come straight back. Anything can go at any sitting. A recipe tagged for breakfast is no longer pushed down the list when you are filling a dinner: a sitting is when you eat, not a claim about the food. Rows take a tap or a long press anywhere along them, not only on the words. Fixed: a product the app could not name showed the words it was searched for as if they were the product's name. Things worth having appeared over an empty list. A fresh install could tell a Plus household its free book was full — and so could a moment of no signal, which now leaves your book alone until it can actually check.

Times you can trust. A step that says "about 3–3 1/2 hours" is now read as three hours, not two — so a long braise ends when it should, and every step after it stays where it belongs. The figures at the top of a meal no longer run off the edge. Total and hands on are written out in full. Fixed: the app was losing track of how it is used when you close it, which made the parts worth improving harder to find.

Timings you can trust. Plating and finishing steps no longer add twenty minutes to a meal, and a step that tells you how long it takes now costs exactly that. Recipes already in your book are repaired as well — nothing to paste again. Share a meal by link. Send one recipe or a whole evening to anyone, and they open it in a browser with no app to install. Shop your way. "I have one" now sits under your thumb at the top of the sheet, and a list can go to a shop we do not carry a cart for. Fixed: the Cook tab no longer comes up empty after you open a recipe without cooking it.
