NOTES MOVE BETWEEN YOUR OWN DEVICES — Open Transfer on both devices and bring them close: a 6-digit code appears, type it on the other one, then tick the notes and send. The copy travels over your own local network with no server in between, as an AES-256 encrypted archive that only your password can open. Locked notes appear greyed out and cannot be picked. RECEIVED NOTES HAVE A HOME — The library gains "Received from other devices": everything you receive is there and also in All Notes, ready to open, favourite or delete like any other entry. When every note behind a transfer record has been deleted, the record goes with them. EVERY DEVICE HAS A NAME — The first time you open Transfer, an iPhone calls itself iPhone-1, an iPad iPad-1 and a Mac Mac-1, so two similar devices no longer both show up as "My device". WHAT USES THE NETWORK, SAID PLAINLY — Two things only: the App Store purchase, and a transfer you start yourself. There is no server of ours, and what you write is not handed to any service.

THE SECOND VAULT SAYS IT OUT LOUD — The screen where you set a second password now states it before you type: a forgotten password cannot be recovered, not by us and not by Apple. IMAGES NOTHING POINTS TO CAN BE CLEARED — Settings > Backup & Restore has an image section beside the drawing one: scan, see how many and how much room they take, then delete. Notes in the recycle bin still count as in use, so nothing in use is removed. ANIMATED IMAGES STAY ANIMATED — Large GIFs used to be stored as a single frame while small ones kept moving. Animation is now kept at any size, the app tells you how much room the file takes, and anything too large is refused instead of leaving half an image behind. LONG ENTRIES KNOW WHERE TO STOP — Past 30,000 characters a one-time note suggests splitting the entry; it still saves. Past 100,000 nothing more can be added, but "copy all text" takes everything out in one tap. SHORTCUTS SPEAK YOUR LANGUAGE — The title and description of the "New blank entry" action now follow the system language in all fifteen languages instead of showing English everywhere. A SMALLER DOWNLOAD — The release build no longer carries our test harness, so the download is lighter and takes less room.

FIND AND REPLACE IN THE EDITOR — Open search while writing: matches light up, titles are searched as well as the body, step through them one by one, or replace all at once. A single undo takes the whole batch back. RESTORES SHOW THEIR PROGRESS — An import now tells you how many notes it has processed out of the total, along with the title it is working on, and you can cancel at any point. Cancelling leaves nothing behind, so you never end up with a half-restored library. SORTING, AND A RECYCLE BIN YOU CAN SET — Sort notes by last edited, date created or title. Choose how long the recycle bin keeps deleted notes — 3, 7 or 30 days — and notes already in it are recalculated to the new period. A STEADIER GALLERY — Decrypted images are kept at the size they are drawn, so the same photo is not decrypted again every time it scrolls back into view. LESS SPACE TAKEN — The download is smaller than the last release, and it uses less room once installed. A BACKUP REMINDER THAT KNOWS WHEN TO STOP — Only when your last export is over 30 days old and you have at least five notes does the home screen offer a reminder, once. Tap "Got it" and it stays quiet for 7 days, or switch it off for good in Settings.

A LIGHTER GALLERY — Images now decode at the size they are drawn. A screen of thumbnails no longer pulls full-resolution originals into memory, so scrolling holds up and the app is less likely to be killed in the background. RESTORES COUNT THEIR PHOTOS — When a restore finishes, any gap between the image count the archive declares and what actually landed is listed line by line ("declared N / arrived M"). Previously this case looked exactly like a clean success. BROKEN IMAGE REFERENCES ARE REMOVED — If an image genuinely could not be recovered during an import, the reference is removed from the note body along with it, instead of leaving a grey placeholder that spins forever. PRUNE SHOWS THE LIST FIRST — "Keep only the most recent backups" now lists exactly which files will be deleted and waits for confirmation. RESTORING HAS A DEADLINE — If the store or the network does not answer, a retryable message arrives within half a minute instead of an endless spinner. TWO PLACES THAT COULD HANG — Large drawings are scaled down proportionally before export; very deeply nested notes fall back to plain text instead of freezing the whole page. ON THE WRIST — Pending captures are no longer wiped when the sync queue cannot be read, and "queue full" and "cannot read" now say two different things. MAINLAND CHINA — The About page now shows the app's filing number. AND SMALLER THINGS — Changing the system language takes effect immediately without relaunching; imports and exports can no longer be triggered twice; and if the keychain is briefly unavailable while changing your password, the app says so and rolls back instead of reporting a wrong conclusion.

A NEW LOOK — The journal has been rebuilt around a calmer visual system: layered materials, a restrained type scale, a hairline border instead of shadows, and light or dark following the system. Every touch target was audited for size and contrast. SECOND VAULT — Set a second, decoy password. Unlocking with it opens a space where your real journal is not visible. The two spaces have separate databases, separate keys and separate media folders — switching is not a UI trick. ON YOUR WRIST — A companion Apple Watch app: capture a line in seconds, keep writing offline (captures wait in a queue and are delivered when the phone is reachable), and lock the phone from your wrist. Complications show your streak and whether you wrote today — counts only, never text. A YEAR IN REVIEW — A local recap of your year, with an optional share card carrying statistics only. TIME CAPSULE — Write to your future self. Pick a date, and the entry stays sealed: no title and no body until the day arrives. On the day itself, a small unsealing moment, plus a local reminder so you are there for it. Sealed entries are encrypted like any other note. MOOD ↔ ACTIVITY — Insights now crosses your moods with folders and tags, so you can see which places and topics your good days come from — and which ones quietly wear you down. A LIGHTER DOODLE FLOW — The sketch canvas opens faster, remembers where you left off, and gets a tidier toolbar with undo and redo within reach. ALSO IN THIS RELEASE - A sealed time capsule is marked in the list; title and body stay hidden until the date. - Unsealing happens fully offline; the reminder is a local notification only, delivered silently between 23:00 and 06:00. - Existing notes, folders and tags carry over untouched — nothing is re-encrypted, nothing is re-entered.

HANDWRITING THAT STAYS ENCRYPTED — A drawing canvas inside each note. Sketch with Apple Pencil or your finger; the strokes are encrypted with the rest of the entry and travel with it into backups and PDF exports. ON-DEVICE AI, OPTIONAL — On Apple Intelligence-enabled devices, summarise a long entry, suggest a title, or ask for a gentle reflection. Inference runs locally; nothing is uploaded. The feature is off by default and simply absent on devices that don't support it. A RECOVERY CODE, NOT A SECOND PASSWORD — Generate one once. Write it down or save it. If you ever forget your password, the recovery code is what brings your notes back — without the app having to keep any secret for you. PER-NOTE LOCK — Some entries deserve a second wall. Tap the lock on a note and it asks for Face ID or the device passcode — separate from the app lock. Failed attempts are listed in an Unlock attempts screen. OPTIONAL SPOTLIGHT INDEX — Choose to let the system find your note titles in Spotlight. Off by default. Only titles. Locked notes and note bodies are never indexed, and the index is wiped the moment you turn it off. STRONGER KEY WRAPPING — Master key wrapping moves from CBC to authenticated AES-GCM, and the format version is stamped on every wrap. Old notes still open with your existing password — no re-encryption, no re-entry.
