Kilojo turns a photograph of your meal into calories and macros.
Point the camera at your plate. Kilojo reads the food, estimates the portion, and fills in calories, protein, carbohydrate and fat. Add a hint — "half portion, no rice" — and it adjusts.
THREE WAYS TO LOG
• Photograph it. Best for cooked food and anything on a plate.
• Scan the barcode. Reads the printed label from a public product database.
• Type it in. Full control when you already know the numbers.
TARGETS THAT COME FROM SOMEWHERE
Your daily calorie and macro targets are calculated from your height, weight, age, activity and goal using the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and published protein and macronutrient ranges — not a number someone made up. Losing, maintaining, gaining or building, at a pace you choose.
CALORIES OR KILOJOULES
Read either. Switch whenever you like; nothing is converted twice or lost.
PLAN THE WEEK, FOR FREE
The Plan tab works out what is left for each of the next seven days and suggests meals that fit — from the meals you have logged and a built-in cookbook of nearly three hundred everyday dishes from around the world, filtered for vegetarian, vegan, pescatarian, gluten-free, dairy-free, keto, high-protein or low-carb eating. Pencil meals in, or let Kilojo plan the day or the week and edit what it picked. Log each with one tap when you eat it. It all runs on your phone; nothing is sent anywhere.
ALSO IN THE APP
• Weight tracking, one reading a day, charted over time, with a goal weight and BMI band for context
• Water logged alongside your food
• Streaks, and reminders you set yourself
• Dark by default, with a light theme if you prefer it
HONEST ABOUT ESTIMATES
A photograph cannot tell anyone exactly how much food is on a plate. Kilojo infers it, shows you the working, and lets you correct every number. Treat them as a good starting point, not a measurement. Photo estimates have a fair-use limit of 12 a day; barcodes, typing and the Plan tab are unlimited.
PRIVACY
No advertising. No analytics, no trackers, no third-party SDKs of any kind. Your diary is written to your phone first and works without a connection. Delete your account, and everything with it, from inside the app at any time.
Kilojo is not medical advice. If you have or have had an eating disorder, please speak to a doctor before using an app like this one.
