Lexicon is a vocabulary app for curious readers who want more than an ordinary word-of-the-day list.
Each day begins with a rare word worth knowing: something precise, beautiful, useful, historically charged, or too interesting not to share. Clear definitions, pronunciation, source context, original examples, etymology, and distinctions from neighboring terms show how the word works.
Then enter the Starfield. Words form constellations around subjects, writers, thinkers, and documented connections. Fly from one idea to another, explore a writer’s characteristic vocabulary, or read the same connections as a focused list.
Lexicon helps you keep and learn the words you find:
- Save words and mark those you already know.
- Review with typed recall, contextual prompts, and precise distinctions.
- Prepare to read demanding writers and thinkers through curated paths.
- Capture unfamiliar words and their sentences from your own reading.
- Build a personal constellation from the books and passages you encounter.
- Place daily words, challenges, constellations, and mastery review on your Home Screen or Lock Screen.
- Ask Siri for the daily word, a definition, or a difficult-word challenge.
The launch corpus contains more than 1,500 entries across literature, philosophy, psychology, linguistics, science, mathematics, medicine, theology, political thought, rhetoric, aesthetics, and other demanding fields. Lexicon works without an account, advertising profile, or remote vocabulary service.

Lexicon’s latest update expands the Starfield to 1,597 words and adds new guided journeys through Moby-Dick, Infinite Jest, and Nabokov’s butterfly science. It also introduces a clearer eight-question vocabulary calibration; improves navigation, widget handoffs, accessibility, and Starfield performance; makes the Pro daily feed less repetitive; and adds stronger local protection, export, and deletion controls for your learning data.
