Congressa is your conference programme in your pocket – even without internet.
WHY IT EXISTS
At conferences I carried a folded paper programme in my jacket: looking up when my talk was and in which hall, leafing between days while the sessions changed around me. I wanted the programme in my pocket – let the phone tell me what is on now, what comes next and where to go. And let it work where a congress hall has no signal.
THREE STEPS
1. Enter the conference website or open the programme PDF from the organiser.
2. Check the recognised days, times and item types (lecture, posters, lunch, break, social programme). Fix anything with a tap.
3. Approve – the programme stays on your phone and reminders are local: what, when and where, always before it starts.
WHAT THE APP DOES
• NOW – what is happening right now, what comes next and your own next item.
• PROGRAMME by day with talks and posters inside their blocks, including authors and paper codes.
• MY PLAN – star what you do not want to miss; the app warns about clashes.
• I'M IN THE PROGRAMME – if you present, chair or guide, link yourself and your slots are highlighted and reminded first.
• REMINDERS your way – 5, 10, 15, 30, 60 minutes or a custom time from 1 minute to 12 hours before every item.
• SHARE BY QR CODE – show the code and a colleague has the same programme in seconds. The iPhone Camera is enough, and anyone who does not have Congressa yet sees, right next to the code, where to get it. You can also send a ready-made invitation as a message, or save the code as an image for a poster or a slide.
• SEARCH by surname finds a talk even inside a block, diacritics-insensitive.
• PLACES with navigation in Maps, speakers and contact persons with a call button.
• NOTIFICATIONS your way: how many minutes ahead and for what (my plan, social programme, announcements).
• AI RECOGNITION (optional) reads even messy PDFs or websites – with your own API key or through the organiser's server.
FOR ORGANISERS
On Mac (and iPad) the app is also a conference back office: import the programme from a website, PDF, text or calendar; manage rooms, tracks, people and roles, presentations and attendees with access codes; publish to your own server in one click. The optional, dependency-free server then sends push reminders before every item, handles dinner or trip registrations with capacity and a waiting list, and produces attendance lists.
PRIVACY
No account, no sign-up, no ads, no tracking. The programme and your plan live on your device. Data leaves it only where you send it – to an organiser's server you enter, or to the AI recognition you start yourself.
FREE, KEPT ALIVE BY THE PEOPLE IT HELPS
Congressa is an independent app – it is not made by the conference organiser. It is free and complete: no ads, no tracking, no locked features, no subscription. Nothing is held back for a paid tier. It is written in evenings after clinical work and given away rather than sold, so that everyone at a congress has the programme in hand – not only those who pay. If it helped you at a conference, you can leave an optional tip – a coffee, a lunch or a dinner. It unlocks nothing; it simply keeps the app free for the next attendee.
