Periblox: Muslim Prayer Clock

Salah ranges on a 24h dial

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

The five prayers and the three forbidden windows, drawn as arcs on a 24-hour dial. See how much of the current prayer is left — on your wrist, at a glance. Most prayer apps give you five times. Periblox gives you five windows. A prayer is a range, not an instant. Periblox draws all five as arcs on a single 24-hour dial, so one glance answers the question you actually have: how much of this prayer is left? THE DIAL Midnight at the top, clockwise through the day. Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha sit as arcs at their real angular positions, each with a visible start and end. The current moment is marked on the rim. Isha runs past midnight and the dial draws it that way, rather than clipping it at 24:00. THE THREE FORBIDDEN WINDOWS Periblox is one of the few apps that shows the awqat al-karaha — the makruh times when voluntary prayer is discouraged: shortly after sunrise, at the sun's zenith before Dhuhr, and just before sunset. Each of the three can be shown or hidden independently, and each duration is yours to set, because the scholarly range is real (roughly 12 to 45 minutes after sunrise, depending on the school). Nothing is hard-coded to one madhhab's numbers. The sunset window matters for more than decoration: its start is Asr's preferred end, so the dial shows you the difference between "still valid" and "no longer preferred." ON THE WATCH The complication is the point. Circular, corner, rectangular and inline families are all supported, so the current window and its remaining time live on your watch face without opening anything. Turn the Digital Crown to scrub forward and backward through the day and watch the windows move under the marker. ON IPHONE Home Screen widgets in small and medium, plus Lock Screen circular, rectangular and inline. The full dial in the app. Runs on iPad too. TUNED TO YOUR PRACTICE • 12 calculation methods — Muslim World League, Umm al-Qura, Egyptian, Karachi, ISNA / North America, Dubai, Moonsighting Committee, Kuwait, Qatar, Singapore, Tehran, Turkey • Asr by Shafii or Hanafi shadow ratio • High-latitude rules for short and absent nights • Midnight formula: sunset-to-sunrise or sunset-to-Fajr • Hijri date with a ±2 day offset for local moon sighting • Settings sync between iPhone and Apple Watch BUILT TO BE READ Dynamic Type, Reduce Motion and Differentiate Without Color are all honoured. Prayer categories are carried by position, ring thickness, gaps and glyphs — not by colour alone — so the dial still reads on a tinted watch face, and for anyone who does not see the five hues apart.
