Quick add has a Task / Reminder switch, so a reminder goes in with its date straight from Today. Tell Pliny about something due at a time, like the dentist at 9am tomorrow, and it reminds you an hour before; choose how long before, or turn it off, in Reminders. On iOS 26 the Today widget now updates within about a minute when you finish or change a task on the web or another device.

Remind me at… on any task: choose a day and time, and Pliny nudges you then on the reminder channels you pick. With Google Calendar connected, it can go in your calendar too. Record now starts recording the moment you tap it. Email reminders are free on every plan, and your first recording, upload or connection starts your free 30-day Premium trial, with no card and no charge when it ends.

Task buttons now act the moment you tap them: Done, Snooze, Not today and the rest take the task off the list straight away, on the Today widget too, and if Pliny cannot save the change the task comes back with the reason. A task can now repeat every 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6 days, and Pliny understands "every third day" or "every other day" when you type it.

A task is now marked Done, and Done comes first on the task list and Upcoming as well as on Today, so you can finish something without planning it first. A task or a step can be as short as one minute. The task editor and the add form use the same words as pliny.life: Start date, Deadline, Plan for and Pin to the top.

Record without opening Pliny: add Record for Pliny to Control Center, the Lock Screen or the Action button, or say "Record with Pliny" to Siri. Recording keeps going with the iPhone locked, and Stop is on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island and above every tab in Pliny. On iOS 26, Pliny transcribes on your iPhone as you record, and a long recording can be sent as its transcript alone. Share a call transcript from Notes, or any text, photo or document, to Pliny from the share sheet. Repeating tasks know their time of day, so an evening walk waits for the evening. Recording other people? Pliny reminds you once to ask them first.

Add reminders: things that are on one date and take no time. They show on Today on their day and move on if missed. Share a single task with other people, choose who can edit it and see who has finished; Contacts lists everyone you share with. Add a task with every option at once, choose what each reminder channel sends, including email, and repeat tasks monthly, quarterly or yearly.

Set how a task repeats from the task editor: every day, every weekday, a weekday of your choice, or a few times a week. Editing a repeating task keeps its schedule.

Reminders can now arrive as notifications on your iPhone, alongside WhatsApp and SMS. Turn them on from Reminders. Tasks can now carry a start date as well as a deadline, so work that needs to begin at a set time shows up when it matters rather than only when it is due.

Audio capture is now faster and more private on iOS 26. Pliny transcribes recordings on your iPhone and sends only the text when recognition confidence is high. If confidence is too low—or on-device transcription is unavailable—Pliny automatically sends the recording for server transcription so accuracy remains the priority. There is no extra review step before capture.

Today's tasks are now on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. Start a focus block, complete a task, snooze it or move it to tomorrow directly from the widget. Widgets are included for free. Manual planning stays free: capture and maintain tasks, plan Today, use focus timers and share with a buddy.
