A diary is a chore, so this one writes itself: your trips appear on a calendar from when and where your photos were taken. The map even spots places you only flew over.
Atokara Travel Diary finds your trips automatically from when and where your photos were taken, and draws each one as a band on a calendar. It's a diary made just for trips.
Keeping a diary is a chore, so this one writes itself.
Just add your everyday places, like home and work. Three days in Kyoto become a "Kyoto" band; a week in Hawaii becomes "United States". Add a short note only to the days or photos you want to remember.
■ Everyday places aren't trips
• Add home, work, family, or anywhere you go often as a "Place to Skip", and photos taken there won't count as trips
• Even within your own state or prefecture, a day out beyond your everyday area still becomes a trip
• Set a spot on the map with a radius, or choose a whole state or prefecture. Add as many as you like
■ Calendar
• Thumbnails on every day with photos, gently changing every few seconds
• A colored band for each trip: by state or prefecture at home, by country abroad. Tap a band to see all its photos
• A photo banner above each month drifts through that month's trips. People and objects pop out of the banner, with a subtle 3D tilt effect
• Swipe month by month, or scroll vertically
• Photos taken abroad are placed on the local date
■ Trip photos
• Every photo from a trip, day by day
• Landscape banners appear as each day begins, and within busy days too, with people and objects popping out over the thumbnails
• Open a photo to favorite, hide, or delete it. Changes appear in the Photos app too
■ Your trips
• All your trips by year, with counts of trips, prefectures, and countries
• A faint map of each destination behind every trip, with a red dot where you took the most photos
• Day trips near home even show the city name
• Filter by domestic or abroad
■ Notes and search
• Write a short note for any day or any single photo
• Search your notes or place names. A note on a photo takes you straight to that photo. Your last 20 searches are saved
• Notes and settings sync between your iPhones through your own iCloud
■ Your photos stay on your iPhone
• The app only reads your photo library to show it. Images are never copied into the app or uploaded
• States, prefectures, and countries are identified on your iPhone with built-in map data
• No ads, no analytics
Available in English and Japanese.
Trips are detected from the location saved in your photos. The more photos with location, the richer your calendar. Photos without location (such as saved images), screenshots, and screen recordings are not shown.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• The Photos switch in the bottom bar now hides photos only on the Calendar and in the Trips list thumbnails. Open a trip or a day to see its photos.
• Photos opened from the Regions map now show where they were taken (latitude and longitude) and the altitude.
• Photos taken on a plane are now recognized more reliably.
• The background now shows your theme color more clearly.
