If you care enough about privacy & anonymity to blur people’s faces in photos, you need this app. There are a lot of photo-blur apps out there, and most of them collect absurd amounts of data, in addition to costing an arm & a leg. That kind of defeats the purpose of something that’s supposed to protect anonymity. This one doesn’t collect data. And it lets you strip metadata from photos & videos. And the pro version is only $6.99 for life.As a community organizer, I’m always trying to strike the balance between publicizing a campaign by centering the voices of marginalized folks, while trying to protect them from further harm where they may put a target on themselves by speaking truth to power. It was hard enough to find a photo/video blurring app that worked well, was easy to use, didn’t collect a ton of data, and was reasonably affordable. Superblur is the first app that not only checks all four boxes, but on the data collection point, it’s not even minimal data—it’s no data. This is an invaluable tool that I look forward to getting a lot of use out of.
