Frictio: App Blocker & Focus

Earn your screen time back

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Your phone is winning. Frictio turns it around. Pick the apps that eat your day and give them a daily limit. Once it's used up, iOS locks them. Still want in? Then you pay, but not with money: with a real task. HOW IT WORKS • Pick your apps and a daily limit from 5 minutes to 6 hours • When time's up, the apps lock, even when Frictio is closed • Open one anyway and Frictio names the price, for example 15 push-ups • Do it and the app opens for a few minutes. Or walk away, and it counts as a win SIX WAYS TO PAY • Push-ups and squats, counted by the camera • Plank, held against the clock • Mental maths • Turning your phone in a circle • Plain patience Every lock draws at random from the tasks you picked, and every further unlock on the same day costs more and buys less time. So it never becomes routine. AN ALARM WITH A TASK Frictio's alarm rings through silent mode and Focus and only stops once you've done your morning task. Get up first, then scroll. SEE YOUR PROGRESS Your streak, how often the lock stopped you, how often you held out. Widgets for your home screen and Lock Screen. PRIVATE BY DESIGN • The camera counts on your device. No image is ever stored or sent • Frictio never learns which apps you picked: Apple only hands over anonymous tokens • No ads, no tracking FRICTIO PRO Frictio is a subscription: yearly with 7 days free, monthly or weekly. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your Apple ID settings. Ratings & Reviews

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

Fixes a bug that made Frictio hang on launch since the clock change. Also: streak milestones are celebrated only once, and the lock counts a changed app selection correctly right away.
