Made for iPhone Duo, and a map you can unroll. - iPhone Duo: hold it half open like a laptop and the game plays on the top half, with the D-pad, buttons and map on the bottom half, like a handheld. Closed or open flat, it plays as usual on either screen. - The corner map is now a little scroll, drawn like an old castle map with your footprints on it. Tap it and it unrolls into the full map, with every room's name. - Small fixes.

Easier to find your way, and smarter battles. - Tap your quest at the top of the screen for a hint and a map of where to go. - A map in your Satchel, and a mini-map in the corner (you can hide it in Settings). - Tap a dragon on your team to see its stats and moves. The Dragodex shows them too, plus when each dragon evolves. - Your dragons now tell you when they learn a new move. - Cinder, Tide and Moss attacks can burn, soak or root. - Spark hits one foe hard; Starfall is better against two or more. Mend gets weaker each time you use it in a fight. - Easier-to-read text (pixel letters are still in Settings). - Fixes: the doorway into the library's restricted section, the Satchel on smaller phones, floor plates that glow when they need a push, and more.

Chapter 2: The Heart Beneath the Hearth - A new story: a visiting Envoy is after the Dragon Hearts. - Flying lessons and ring runs on Biscuit, the school dragon. - New places: the Aerie, the Feast Hall, the library, the Lakeshore and the Drowned Vaults. - 13 new dragons, a new spell (Gust), fishing, and hats and cloaks to wear. - Your dragons now evolve in a cutscene, and your team holds 6. - The whole world is drawn in finer detail. Finished Chapter 1? Sleep in your dorm bed to begin.

Chapter 1, bigger and better! - Rowan's story: your rival now has a real arc, with a rematch at the castle gate, a surprise by the old arch, and a final duel after Old Briar. - Wands that matter: the wand you hold changes your Spark's type. Find all five, including Old Briar's own Briarwood Wand. - A new spell, Starfall, hits every foe at once. - Hallowtide (Oct 20 to Nov 1, every year): pumpkin lanterns, treats, and a rare pumpkin dragon, the Gourdling, in the Old Wood. - Play on iPad, with a layout made for the bigger screen. - Game controller support (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch Pro and MFi). - Keyboard play on iPad and Mac: arrows or WASD to move, X for A and C for B. - Sharper battles: dragons, wizards and every battle scene are drawn in finer detail. - 13 Game Center achievements. - Your save now has a copy in iCloud, and saves are sturdier.
