I previously found Nintype to be a pretty problematic recommendation. It had amazing features I couldn't live without (two-finger typing is the baseline and that's still more than any other keyboard offers me), but it was slow in mysterious ways and even less stable than it is now in others. This version, submitted to Apple one or two years ago, finally fixes that. Yes, it leaves you with a keyboard that crashes occasionally (requiring you to switch back and/or reload it using a system input field like notes or the spotlight search) and has an intimidating canyon of options hidden away for the power users. But that canyon of options is also its biggest strength, alongside endless custom color schemes (including gradients, basic background patterns, a large number of individually customizable color fields all using RGB inputs and a mess of flashy, optional effects like jiggling and input wind and rainbow colors), huge amounts of customization available for inputs and shortcuts on keys, vital and/or random utilities and cute bonuses, just an incredible amount. Assuming it's still $5, that's absolutely worth it. Put some time, effort and input into Nintype, and it will reward you like no other iOS keyboard can....I mean, unless you're into visual gif selection rather than saving and pasting the links from a shortcut, or some other specific function that another keyboard is dedicated to, I guess. And unless Apple screws everything up again. But hey, updating iOS when it isn't strictly needed or strongly community-tested is a bad idea anyway!
Finally works without constant crashing!

This poor app and developer has had issues with this app. It’s kinda awesome in what it does, but it froze constantly, pushing ppl away from it - this wasn’t because the developer was a poor one, apple has issues that they couldn’t figure out with third party keyboards. I’m not going to lie - when you download this app, its honestly frustrating as hell because of the learning curve and making it learn how you type, but after a while it is much better and your speed will increase considerably. I bought this a long time ago, so I’m not sure of the current cost, but the one draw back I think I can think of is that you others using your phone with struggle hardcore with using it because it is such a specialized keyboard. Because of this, I still keep my ios keyboard installed so that if somebody else is typing for me they can. Now if apple would allow for the third party apps to use Siri when you truly need to speak your text, I’d love this even more than I already do. For the user that was having trouble typing when the dictionary didn’t have a word, you enable peck mode and then favorite it by force pressing on the word. When you do this, it adds it for the future and you’re good to go for the next time. Final thing is to make sure you back up your words semi regularly because you don’t accidentally to lose all your stuff - what I do is put my stuff in a note and save it in icloud.

Been using this since it first came out. It’s an off and on off again relationship honestly. Before I stopped using the keyboard because of the constant crashes and memory leaks associated with such an advanced keyboard. But it’s been well worth it. Texting and even doing essays with this style of keyboard is amazing and satisfying. It’s realist gratifying once you get the swing of things. Newest update has made Nintype more stable than ever with almost no crashes ever. I can’t even remember the last time the keyboard would crash at all. Now the only complaint and a very minute one at that, is that the little mini game that comes with nintype is almost unplayable. It’s very glitchy and holding the spacebar to charge the bump to the next word doesn’t really work correctly anymore. Ultimately though that’s really a dumb and minor issue to have, but it’s a good example of how great this keyboard truly is. If this is the only issue now then it just shows how awesome nintype has become. Texting, and writing notes on your phone especially in landscape mode is a breeze and it’s amazing truly how fast you can eventually type with this keyboard. Not to mention the haptic feedback and themes you can customize and apply just adds even more content to an already amazing keyboard. Seriously a good job. Can’t ever go back to a regular touch keyboard again.
Really, I love this app.

I had previously hated this app because I was often unable to use it. It was due to a crashing bug and a graphics bug in which the keyboard would always lie halfway off the screen. None of that anymore. Jormy is a diligent developer-- if you want an innovative piece of software that's under active development and good leadership, you can count on Nintype to deliver it. Besides everything that I have so far said, this app gives you the flexibility and productivity that absolutely EVERYONE can benefit from. It's definitely true that the learning curve is huge-- but think of it as a small walk uphill for an infinitely spanning smooth ride downhill. It's worth it, and at $4.99, frankly, it's a steal.
Updated word chooser, Updated topbar
Fixed and improved retype & rewind functionality
Fixed cap switching from the topbar (it now reflects properly)
Big shortcuts on main menu (you can enable this by editing the main menu / spacebar hold menu)
Updated base dictionary - removed some useless/nonsense words, added missing common ones
(thanks for the donated dictionary data. I haven't added them to credits yet though)

Sorry about the lack of update - more may come in 2020 at this rate. I've been in a limbo of sorts
