It seems like many of the bad reviews I’ve read here have mostly to do with not learning the app (it’s like a complex airplane - you have to study it to know it fully) or just bad luck with an iOS device, or not utilizing support to its full advantage. I've had some tech issues with the app, but support has always been outstanding, even though sometimes there wasn’t a full resolution available (most were fixed in future updates). I encourage everyone who tries the app to fully engage with its capabilities and fully engage with Coradine’s support team. It takes some time but if you’ll do it, I think you’ll learn to love LogTenPro. I still keep paper logbooks but LTP is my on-the-go logbook. I use it at my airline on every leg. It takes just a minute or two but in that minute or two I record more data than I could ever manage with a paper logbook. I also tend to use LTP as a flying diary - not something all pilots would do, but being able to record data other than flying times all in one app, all on one device is simply amazing. Also, the data analysis available with LTP is extremely powerful. The smart groups alone are worth the subscription cost. My advice is to stick with it rather than abandoning it at the first sign of trouble (you know - unlike what most people do with their marriages). Also, if you’re really an airline pilot, consider stopping the complaints about the subscription cost and be grateful for how much money you make - not required folks, but just saying...gratitude really works.

Hi Beer Fridge, thank you sincerely for taking the time to write this review and share your feedback. We're thrilled to hear that you're loving LogTen Pro as much as we do, and that you've had a chance to experience our amazing customer support. We've heard from many pilots that also use LTP as a flying diary, and we are very happy to hear that you're utilizing the more powerful analytical features like Smart Groups and data analyzation as well. We are so grateful for our pilot community and customer base, and we're going to continue to strive to make the best and most beautiful electronic logbook app and provide the most stellar customer support that we possibly can. Thank you so much for your support, and take good care out there. Tailwinds, Heather // Team Coradine
Great!!! But...

I have been using LogTen since 2013 and have absolutely loved it. I used it for about a year before it turned to a subscription based product which I was upset because I had to re-buy the app since the old version was not being updated AND pay however much it was to have it for a year. I contacted them and asked if there was anything they can do to help me out since I recently bought the old app then came out with ‘X’. They were able to throw in a year for free which I thought was very nice of them. Afterwards I bought the 3 year subscription so I wouldn’t have to worry about it for a while. That’s when I thought it was worth it. Now with the prices going up every year, I’m slowly starting to dislike it. It really is an amazing app, with awesome customizations and a lot of different ways to import and export schedules. It really has made tracking time A LOT easier. I just wish their payment system can go down a bit. I would hate to get another app in the future.

Hi RgarroThank you for your review. It's great to hear that you are happy with LogTen Pro and it's customization features. I do appreciate your comments regarding the subscription pricing. While the shift over to the subscription model almost 4 years ago now was painful for some, we've tried hard to keep the prices reasonable. The annual subscription covers multiple full time engineers and support staff who work hard to ensure LogTen Pro is the best professional logbook on the market. Please don't hesitate to contact our support team to make sure you are receiving the best deal possible on the annual plan - help.coradine.com. All the best, Team Coradine
Misleading

It’s taken me a few years to write this review, but somehow inadvertently opened the app I’ve had for years, and realized again how upset I am about the changes. I purchased the app a number of years ago for a “one time fee” of something I considered ridiculous at the time (I believe it was $89 or $109) but I decided to give it a try. It wasn’t a spectacular app, but worked for what I needed. I continued to use it, until after one update they wouldn’t let me back in saying it required the even more ridiculous monthly cost of over $100/year. Well great. Now I can’t even print off my new pages to update the logbook for a major airline review. Fortunately I had a version on an old phone I hadn’t updated yet, and was able to use that version to print off the months of flying I had done that I needed to print off for an interview. No heads up, nothing. If I didn’t have that non-updated phone, those hundreds of hours would have been lost unless I payed the fee. When I purchased he app initially, I was told it was a one time fee. Then - oh - let’s make more money and lock them out unless a yearly fee is paid. There should have been a grandfather right for the ones that purchased it during the one time fee purchase. I now fly for a legacy and certainly don’t pay for the subscription. Shame on Coradine for taking advantage of instructors and students like this. $20/year? Maybe. But your prices are absurd for the occasional facelift. The app functions the same as it always has.

Hello Teejmac, thank you sincerely for taking the time to write this review. Thank you also for having been such a long time customer of LogTen Pro; we really appreciate you and would not be where we are today were it not for customers such as yourself. We are grateful to have this opportunity to offer clarifications and reassurances. First, and very importantly, we've worked very hard to ensure that pilots would absolutely not be locked out of their logbooks or be forced to upgrade. Since the release of LogTen Pro v7 in October of 2014, our engineering and support team has been steadfastly working to ensure that everyone maintains access to their data on the device of their choice and assisting with comprehensively upgrading logbooks - regardless of any subscription status or intention of paying to subscribe. There were (and still are) no fees or contracts required to upgrade, and full access to your logbook data along with the ability to view, edit, analyze, receive updates, run reports, and even export your data will always be obligation free. We are pilots ourselves, and we whole-heartedly understand how important logbook data is; our top priority is to help other pilots. In fact, we are proud to let you know that we've increased the parameters of using LogTen Pro for free from 40 hours up to 250 hours - effectively making the worlds best logbook free to use for students. We are very sorry to hear that you may have missed some messages with regards to notices of compatibility for older versions of LogTen Pro. We unfortunately do not receive any customer information from Apple, so our newsletter and social media were the primary means by which we communicated NOTAMs such as system compatibility prior to when iOS 8 was released to the public. We would be thrilled if you would consider giving us another chance to experience for yourself what the newest LogTen Pro has to offer - please drop us a line at help.coradine.com and mention this review. We are dedicated to working with you until you are 100% satisfied, and we'd really love to hear from you. Tailwinds, Heather // Team Coradine
Ridiculous subscription
Poynter32
I have been a custom of log ten since 2005. The software has been great and the ability to upgrade when I felt like the features would be of value, which was most of the time. However, the new subscription model is absolutely ridiculous. To pay $100 a year just to be able to use software that does not change or have any information that the company must constantly update such as maps or airport data like foreflight is absurd. I use to recommend logten to all the instructors I work with and all of the students where I work, which is in excess of 400, especially bc of the ability to sign flights, but I will now be finding a new logbook to use and recommend.Edit: As if it wasn’t bad enough before at nearly $100 a year with the Mac version being free to use if you purchased the app. Now they have removed that as well and increased the price again to $130 a year. The developer responds with they have a fantastic suppose team and always adding new features but should I really have to pay more for night mode, a feature that is it even needed, also if the software worked as it was suppose to there wouldn’t need to be any “service” always there to help. Im love technology but these people are what criminals look like in the tech era. I will be switching to Pilot Pro. One time $40 app and free web app with all the same features.
Developer Response
Hi, Thanks very much for the feedback. We really appreciate that you've been a long time customer. I can assure you that we have a team of engineers working full time to update LogTen Pro with new features. Most recently we added night mode, share everything and schedule import for iOS ... we're constantly working on LogTen and have a fantastic support team helping customers with any questions they have. The pricing reflects the professional software that LogTen Pro is and in fact the average annual cost of owning LogTen Pro is almost identical to what it was ten years ago. We are, as always, at your service.
