EZVIZ camera images are great and the app just keeps getting better and better with very helpful features every update. Ackerman Security installed many years ago and whenever I switch internet providers and reconnect the router the app will tell you to reset cameras and I was able to figure it out (cameras are marked with a reset cover you unscrew and press and hold down tiny button until you hear app chirp that cameras were detected and the image appears). Once you learn how to adjust the zones and sensitivity you can really cut down on the video captures you want to see. Reading other reviews, I’m glad I have only owned EZVIZ. Rarely has it missed detection (one camera must have temporarily went offline for some reason) and I guess I’m okay with it recording sudden flares of sunshine and large shadow movements. Very reassuring to be able to see your property when away and see when packages are delivered and know not to answer door for solicitors and see what animals creep around. Thanks, EZVIZ!!!

This review is for the app it’s not about the actual hardware itself. The app is very easy to use and understand and if you sign up for the storage it’s great because you can keep a long history of film. Being able to store events is great if you’re using these cameras at a store or where are you may need to go back and review it later. That might not be so much applicable in a home situation when you can just put a SD card into the camera itself. Sometimes the controlling of the camera is a little slow but that’s probably my Internet not the app. The one feature that I think would be awesome would be preset buttons we could put the camera back to or advancing quickly to a view that you’ve already determined you want often. Sometimes when you’re adjusting the camera, it jumps too far one way or the other and you have to back it up a little by little, so being able to have presets would be great. Ability to have different cameras on different internets even at different locations into the same app is great because others won’t allow you to do that, sometimes you have to multiple accounts of the app on your phone.

There is no place to put a camera outside of my home is completely brick and aluminum for gutters awesome vinyl sided can I put a hole in any of it nor would I so I have to use my cameras on the inside of the house pointing outside problem being,When you have triple pane glass or even double pay glass the camera will reflect back into your home and it will blurr out everything with the bright ultraviolet lights that come from the camera they only work if it’s outside the glass. I would like to have super strong cameras that will work without The UV lights in the camera. I would like them to be a separate mount that is very strong goes through the glass and lights up the outside that way the camera can do its job with the lighting that’s being offered that goes through three panes of glass effortlessly or make your cameras do this. I don’t think you can because your lights on the camera are very strong but for some reason they’re just blowing out everything but if I use a separate light below the camera the camera works as long as I tape off all your UV lights around the camera which is very difficult. I’ve had layers of black electrical tape and other tape to try to block out those lights because you don’t give us an option to turn them off and you should.

There are so many aspects to this device that make it a headache. The online and in-app explanatory text is so badly written it's laughable. The ringer that you plug into the wall goes offline so often the doorbell rarely actually rings when it's supposed to (it isn't powerful enough). The app interface often seems like a hall of mirrors side show; you're never sure how things inter-connect, interface, and ... well, how the thing actually WORKS. The hardware (doorbell) seems well built but the software that controls it seems confused and therefore confusing. This device could have been so simple had they actually given it some thought.The people working for this company don't know how to make a product usable. It may actually work under exact situations, but when little things go wrong you'll be fiddling with it (the app and the hardware) to get it working again. Then it'll stop working again! Too many engineers working at this company. They have a mentality limited to severe logically-based thought loops. They can't think outside that box.Don't buy or use this product! (I forgot to mention: they want to spy on you bigtime--if you'll let them, and they'd really like you to use their expensive cloud service. A sham. Don't fall for it. I threw away the doorbell and deleted the app.
