At Matter Films, we’ve spent years chasing the perfect marriage of sound and story, and somewhere along the way, we stumbled into a lifelong love affair with Musicbed. To say they’ve redefined how we think about music in commercial filmmaking would be an understatement. They’ve ruined us in the best possible way.Every time we use Musicbed, it feels less like browsing a licensing site and more like stepping into a cinematic candy store curated by actual gods of taste. It’s a playground of emotion, texture, and tone; where every track feels handcrafted to elevate a visual into an experience. Their catalog isn’t just “good”, it’s outrageously good. Musicbed is hands down the best place to find music that actually feels cinematic. The app makes it super easy to search by mood or style, and the playlists are spot-on every time. I love being able to audition tracks while I’m editing or on set, it just makes the whole process way smoother.I’ve tried a bunch of other licensing platforms, but nothing comes close to Musicbed’s quality or curation. Every song feels like it was made for real storytellers, not just stock libraries. Can’t recommend it enough for filmmakers, editors, or anyone who cares about the emotion behind their projects.

I’d like to start out by saying that I’ve paid a ton of money over the years to use this website. $100/mo currently, which is a huge increase from just a year ago, to license music that nobody thinks is good enough for the radio, or else you’d hear the songs there and not solely on Musicbed. The app in its current form is even more frustrating than usual. You play a song, and upon pressing play on any song afterward, you keep hearing the first song. No matter what. Right where it left off. This surprisingly only happens on the mobile app which is a headache when trying to find music for projects when you can’t lug your laptop everywhere with you. You must quit the app, then re-open, and find the song again (don’t even get me started on the buffoonery that is the search bar and its functionality, or lack thereof). Adding an AI that does hardly anything useful wasn’t a good enough reason for such substantial price increases, now the app hardly works buddy I’m about done with yall. Musicbed the music that puts you to bed.
