I’ve been a member of LifeMiles, Avianca’s frequent travel program for a while now, and it has truly enhanced my travel experience. The rewards system is generous, with plenty of opportunities to earn miles through flights, partner services, and even everyday purchases. Redeeming miles for flights, upgrades, and lounge access is seamless, and elite status perks—like priority boarding and extra baggage allowance—make every trip more enjoyable. Customer service has always been responsive and helpful, making this one of the best loyalty programs out there. Highly recommend for frequent travelers!

The UI of the app itself looks clean and makes finding flights to book with airlines or miles relatively easy. However, after finding a flight and transferring 84,000 miles I had saved over the years the app and website decided not to work. I kept receiving an error message with instructions to call Avianca’s call center to book the tickets over the phone. After several days of being on hold for several hours I finally reached a representative at the call center, who after an hour of trying to book the flight over the phone told me they received the same error message and couldn’t book the flight. They promised to somehow book the flight manually and call me back but they never did. Now the flights I needed tickets for have been sold out and I was forced to buy tickets from a different airline out of pocket. Not only that but my 84,000 miles are locked with life miles and I have no idea if I’ll ever be able to use them. Save yourself the headache and transfer your miles elsewhere.

I have been a loyal Avianca member since 2015. Before, the app would give you flight info updates, gate changes, etc. Now, the app doesn't let you log your trip in, once you enter Iteneray and name, the next button doesn't light up and let you click it. So you call Avianca. Let's say your trip is $50 to change and $100 to cancel. So you call to change. And this is more than once it has happened, but you are looking at available seats, yet the attendent says nothing is available. So you ask to be transfered. The manager comes on and says they can help, but must transfer you to someone else. So okay. Then same story.So you cancel your flight and book the new one you wanted, no problem, but lose $50 plus.And then we talk about the first class service? One plastic wrapped cold sandwich. No beer or Alcohol drinks. Delta, united, aeromexico, alaska... first, business both have hot meals , and you can get alcohol from any seat on their planes.I stay with Avianca, because the Airport staff are friendly... but I will tell you that the flight attendents do not like how they have been treated lately either. So I hope Avianca gets back to where they were asap or their flight crews may be leaving to other airlines, too.How, I forgot to say that flying from LAX to BOG is more expensive on Avianca then United and Taca. So if they are cutting corners, the savings are not going to customers or the flight crew/app.

Having few troubles of booking. Trying to pick a date for departure/return for award travel: CALENDAR IS LITERALLY JUMPING ON THE SCREEN. It’s super annoying. It will let you see only month that fits in the screen, when you trying to scroll down it bumps you right back to original month. And second : even when I managed to select my dates it never lets me buy online or in the app((( every time some error pops up and tells you to start over. Need to fix all of this problems so people can use it.
