Let's be honest. If you've been meticulously tracking food but are still having trouble meeting your weight goals, you may need to change things up. If you're like me, then you know what a couple of ounces of noodles or rice looks like. An extra here or there isn't going to make a huge difference in the long run. What made a difference for me was simply taking pictures of healthy (often healthy-ish) plates. There's something about *seeing* an XL serving of cauliflower on your plate instead of reading a note about the number of grams consumed. I've found that this app is a great way to motivate me to eat healthier plates, rather than just eating whatever so long as it meets CICO. I'm far from perfect with eating, but this app was a big part of me dropping 12.5% of my bodyweight in 2021. Here's to similar results in 2022! The PDF output was also incredibly helpful in sharing my eating habits with my therapist, who said that he would recommend the apps to other clients. If you've been struggling with results even though you're weighing every morsel, then I recommend that you give SHYE a fair shake.
Amazing!!!

I’ve had this app for a couple months now and I originally downloaded it just so I can get a visual of what I’m actually putting in my body. I’ve learned so much about myself just by tracking because I think we have a natural bias towards ourselves to “think” we’re eating healthy but taking photos and having the literal image of what I ate has helped me open my eyes to the reality of 1) What I actually am eating 2) What times I’m eating and 3) As someone who deals with IBD, this is really helpful to see what foods make me feel good and what foods don’t. It’s also helpful to track what foods can cause certain reactions like acne or affect my hormones and energy levels. Overall, really love this app! It’s so helpful and I also really love the layout of it. It’s so simplistic and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Also, their customer service is so quick to respond and fix any issues you may have. Big SHYE fan <3

Really like it, but could improve!

Overall this app is pretty great. It’s good enough that I kept coming back to it over similar apps because of how easy to use it is and how it keeps me accountable and mindful of the food I consume. I ended up splurging for a years membership so that I would be able to look back and see my history. I really recommend this app for anyone who wants to see what they eat laid out in front of them. It’s such a simple concept but it really makes a difference! The one thing that I really wish would change about this app is being able to take more than six pictures a day. I’m a frequent snacker and like to drink non-water beverages: this means that the limitations on the photo amounts makes it difficult for me to keep track. For example, I’ll have dinner, but I’ll have a second glass of wine that I have to add as the evening snack. But wait, what if I want a third? Then where does it go? I add it as a little note but that’s not quite helpful as another picture.

Definitely needs work but cool concept

I like that this is simple and to the point. I kept seeing it on reddit so I downloaded it and figured I’d buy it for the 2 or 3 bucks that it costs. Though I think I was expecting a little more features with the paid version but I don’t even care about that. What I don’t like (and this is day 1) is that there doesn’t appear to be any way for me to re-use a photo. If I have the same coffee every day for breakfast, I don’t need to keep re-taking that picture. Or in my case today, I had a morning and afternoon snack and they were the exact same snack (strawberries and half of a larabar), so I didn’t bother taking a photo of it the second time since I figured I could re-use the original. But I cannot figure out how to do this and now the app is just freaking out on me, haha. I thought I could “save image” and import it that way, but no... it saves it with the note text and whatnot, it doesn’t just save the plain image. Anyway, it seems it’s updated so hopefully bugs will be worked out. I still love the concept and look forward to updates.Edit... the developer replies but the info is not helpful? That’s awesome that you can import from your gallery, I cannot. Maybe you could explain how one does that? The photos taken in this app do not appear to be added to the regular iPhone albums. If I try to use”Import” to browse my photos, I do not see any of the photos from this app. It’s like they’re stored only in the app... they are not in camera roll or any of the other albums (some apps create their own albums, this one does not). I checked the app permissions and it has full permissions so maybe you can explain how I can import? The only way I can figure how to do it is to take the picture separately from the app using the regular iPhone camera app and then importing it. But that sort of defeats the purpose of pretty much this app’s entire feature set.
