Just Write text editor aims to simplify writing process. The app is carefully designed so that the only things that are absolutely essential to the writing process are included.
Just Write supports RTF (rich text format) and TXT (plain text format) that are cross-platform formats you can open and edit in virtually any platforms.
+ RTF , a WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) format, is best suitable for creating your next big story.
+ While TXT, supported Markdown styles, is best for notes, outline, to-do list and anything else you do with a plaintext format.
Just Write has iCloud support (opt-in) so you can sync your rtf and txt files across all your devices.

This app is great. I’ve been using it for close to two years now. I like the simple format and the organization of documents into neat folders, and also the fact that you can write regardless of your connection to WiFi.But there is one feature that this app is missing: the ability to see your edit history. Whenever I hit the info button on a document, it always tells me that the last time I opened it was just now (showing whatever time it is) and the last time I saved it was also just now. I’d love to see a feature that saves the date and time when you created a document and shows it to you! This way I can look back at old things I wrote and see the date when I wrote it. Right now, I have to rely on my memory. Thanks so much! Looking forward to more updates on this awesome writing app!
Remember to manual save y’all

not gonna be an ultra hater but it’s not great when you test the app to make sure it saves—and it does—only for it to apparently not save once you actually write a lot. I didn’t somehow accidentally delete the file. I wrote, exited, and when i opened the app again, half the writing was gone. ?? So does it save or not? I’m not going to completely deny the possibility of user error but I didn’t close the app /while/ i still had the file open. I went back to the home menu of the app. Then exited. So are you telling me it wouldn’t have saved whether i left the app or not, since i closed the file? Where is there room for user error there? I am aware of the manual save button but it’s not like the app tells you if it autosaves at intervals or something. Honestly, this case was probably my fault but I wish it wasn’t caused by something as trivial as “closing the file too soon”, if that was the cause at all.Edit: apparently this “save glitch” is a problem for some other users, too. Hope this gets fixed. Otherwise, use another app.
Great! But one thing.

This app is amazing! I love how I can keep everything in organized files and the parts don’t get all mixed up based on the last time I worked on them. I usually use my notes just to keep things in one place, and this app is even greater because it shows how many words/characters there are in one part. AND it says how many minutes it takes to read it. Just Write amazingly created and easy! But I have one complaint—when I save and exit a part after working on it, I come back and it doesn’t save even though I saved it. For example, I was working on a project and when I left a part it didn’t save and all of my progress was lost. I tried rewriting it multiple times, but every time it just disappeared after I left. I also tried uninstalling and installing the app, but it still didn’t work. Is there something that I can do for that? Also, that is the only complaint I have for this. Thanks!
Infrequent Updates, but that’s ok

This robust text editor uses *.rtf and *.txt formats. It supports Markdown. Translation, everything you write is functionally future proof. You will always be able to find a text editor that supports Markdown. The Good: simple interface, easy to organize, future proof, Markdown means you can move the files to anything. *.txt means no one will ever create a word processor/text editor that can’t read your files and output them ready to continue writing. Text files are also small, so storage isn’t a problem, even on the 400pg document I’m currently writing. I use Highland2 on my laptop, and it loves the text output from Just Write. Highland2 also makes the multiple files I tend to write large documents in easy to assemble. The Bad: it’s got a crashing problem. I suspect it originates from the infrequent updates. Fortunately, it autosaves frequently, and so I rarely lose more than a sentence or two. It can be difficult to navigate long documents, so I tend to break my writing up into shorter chunks spread over multiple files. This is a problem with the hardware, navigating documents on a tablet/iPad is challenging.Wish List: an update to address the crashing problem. It happens four or five times a day, sometimes more.
