Not recommended for tourist specially if they don’t understand Indonesian language or the way things work in Indonesia because apparently most of the reviews are about paying more than the app. But if u do understand indonesia then this app is good for u. It has promotions everyday, transportion for short to medium distance here is cheaper than grab but I’d choose grab for long distance as it is cheaper and safer. You will get things easier with gopay as there are more discount and less money changes. It does have some problem when you order food far away because you have to wait for quite some time before someone accept the order. Other than that, it’s a good app, I have been using it for 6 months and the biggest problem I have had is that one time I ordered a car driver but he missed the location and have to drive a long way before the U turn but then he asked extra money for gasoline and yeah I gave him the money but I also put bad review on him.

I installed and registered on the Gojek app with the only intention to check if their price for a ride to Hanoi Airport was better than that of Grab. It wasn’t. It was almost 20% higher. So far so good - it’s not a problem. I don’t like - I don’t order. So I closed the app. But in 30 seconds a notification came that the driver will arrive in 6 minutes. I immediately sent him a message not to come, I didn’t order… he told me to wait, he is coming soon. I don’t want to be unfair, so I looked how I can cancel - I couldn’t find it. Tried to contact Gojek - no chance about that too. Asked the driver to cancel - he insisted he will come very soon. In the end, after going through all possible menus, I found a cancellation button way down in the order description. A few screens down. For me after this experience this app is a scam. It generated an order that I didn’t make and made the cancellation as difficult as possible. And I’m sure that if I had a registered payment method, they would charge me too and at least fine me for cancelling after the driver that I never ordered had actually arrived. But because I didn’t have one, they had no other choice but tell me to come again soon. Which I hardly will do after that experience. BTW, the Gojek app looks like a clone of Grab - both as interface and colors. The only difference is Grab never generates an order you didn’t ask for. And at least in my case - has better fares.
Canceled orders by restaurant

Last night after waiting more than an hour for my order, because the app notifications kept ensuring me that a driver would be located to deliver my order. In the end, and 2 hours later I had no food and by that time the majority of the restaurants were no longer taking orders. I asked the restaurant if they could use either the postal delivery service to get my order to me via Gojec or with Grab and they just said, ‘sorry we have no driver and we are closing now’. But this was after more than 2 hours of waiting. If a restaurant has no driver they should let the customer know so they can order elsewhere. A bit skeptical to try and order again. Never had this issue with Grab. I also had no way of connecting with a text message via the app to know exactly what was the situation. So I just trusted the messages that a push would be made to ensure that a driver will be assigned my order. It is what it is I suppose 🤷♂️ If it’s late and you have nothing to eat at home, I recommend jumping on Grab or you may go to bed hungry. Thank you Gojec🙏 Best of luck to you 🍀

Epic! (Except for the pointless points)

Having used this app in Bali for 5 years, it deserves a 5-star rating from me! In my experience, it’s an invaluable resource for convenient transportation and ordering anything anytime, from electricity to es kelapa. One gripe: Go-Points used to be worthwhile but now they are pointless. I should have redeemed an awesome offer last year because now it’s so stingy with the points and puts an expiration date on them. No one wants points anyway! The new offerings are either so lackluster or totally unattainable without a zillion points. Not always perfect, I agree with other reviewers that say GoJEK can be particularly problematic for tourists. Familiarity with your location and a working knowledge of Indonesian go a long way to ensure expectations are met. Miscommunication can cause annoying situations for both sides. Please GO-JEK responsibly.
