I really enjoy many of the features designed in my recently purchased Kenwood DNX574S car stereo. However, the most used component of this device is the navigation guide which is poorly constructed in correspondence with INRIX. The description of this app claims to pull real-time “up-to-the-minute” traffic data that will “help drivers be on time.” Kenwood’s navigation consistently projects inaccurate ETA (estimated time of arrival) at the beginning of a set trip. I’ve compared it to iCloud maps, Google Maps, and Waze. With each ride, the time of arrival was NEVER spot on unlike the other navigation tools. There have been many times I related my ETA (based on Kenwood’s navigation) to whom I was meeting and ended up considerably late. Yet, my final arrivals match closely with the other maps. It is terribly disappointing to be deceived in thinking you’re being guided along a faster route and then arrive +10mins later than the initial ETA projection. All in all, this app sends delayed traffic information contributing to driver’s potential tardiness. As well as, providing limited routes. For example, I live in NYC and for some reason this system refuses to lead me down highways. I definitely checked the settings many times to be sure I did not enable such restriction, yet it continued to occur. Come on Kenwood or INRIX, do something about this! It’s a shame that such a reputable and appraised brand like ‘KENWOOD’ would brace an extremely unreliable and defective system.

Despite setting this app up, having my phone connect to the Kenwood head, and configuring the Garmin nav in the Kenwood head, this app has NEVER provided any traffic info or anything else in the Garmin navigation on the Kenwood. Of course the Garmin system on the Kenwood lets the radio down in as much as its like using Windows 95 on a present day Mac, but that's another issue entirely.Oh and the Inrix app also randomly makes me re-login to my account and I dutifully do it hoping to see something appear in the Garmin maps, but of course nothing ever shows up. This app along with the Garmin nav UI and the fact that you cannot update the Garmin nav maps without permanetly leaving an SD card slot in the radio (instead of using the card for say, MUSIC), and now the radio not working reliably when starting the engine makes me regret buying Kenwood and should have bought a cheap Chinese head. At least I wouldn't be out so much money when that failed.

This thing will come alive to notify when iPhone is connected to your head unit, interrupting whatever you’re doing or listening to—navigating, phone call, podcast. It overrides itself to demand an answer whether to connect. If you grant permission, the full app comes up to show connected, then sits there on the screen and doesn’t recede. You must intervene to go back to what you were doing. Apparently didn’t occur to whoever coded this to make permission sticky; to include an opt-out on the notification, or to have it recede once it informs you it’s connected. At least half the time it won’t register after you give it permission, so you have to go through the routine again. When that happens I kill the app. No good anyway, can’t recall getting useful information on my 994S. Stupid stupid stupid.

I selected connect automatically but it ask every time I get in my vehicle… Every few days it requires me to login / enter my name and email for it to connect… I select save but that doesn’t help. Way outdated and unsafe to expect someone to type their name and email address after they’ve started driving.Also annoying that it alerts a congested area ahead and continues every tenth of mile that I get closer. Typically the congestion is 10 or less vehicles ahead. Nothing worth looking at or detouring. I’m going to wait to see if it’s worthwhile on a trip. If results are no better, it will be deleted from my phone. Big disappointment.
