App for the Pockethernet cable and network tester hardware device.
Pockethernet is a tool for computer network professionals.
It's a smartphone connected cable and network analyzer that helps you in the installation and maintenance of Ethernet networks.
The app enables you to make measurements with the Pockethernet device, remote control every function and generate a report of your findings.
Supported tests include Wiremap, TDR fault localization, PoE measurement, Link detection, VLAN tagging, DHCP, Ping, CDP, LLDP, Cable Toner and Port blinker.
I do like this tester to do simple service call test for one or two cables. But there isn’t a way that I found that it will auto save to the iPhone without hitting save and then veiw each test to a third party app. I use genius scan . And the other thing that could be updated in the UI is when you test a cable and your not in the right port it says miss wire instead of open or no cable present
A great tool for discovery

I have had this little mini “analyzer” for about 3 years. I use it mostly when trying to initially evaluate a new customer’s network. When you walk into a rats nest of an IT room and you have no idea where to start this is one of several tools that I use. I like being able to carry such a small device around with my cell phone and see if cables are live, and what network they connect to. If it is a Cisco environment I can also tell what port they are on. Yes I could do that with a laptop, however this is so much easier then dragging a laptop around. Also many times there is no room for a laptop. I can just plug this in and let it hang from the Cat 5/6 cable and run a quick test. The TDR wire map and graph are also really great tools and the primary reason I initially purchased the unit. When working with data cables in harsh environments it helps to find where the issue is. It also helps find the bad coupler that someone hid in the ceiling. If you happen to be on a ladder testing a cable for a surveillance camera this is the tool to have. My biggest fear is that I will leave the device somewhere or someone will take it. I think the developer should offer an option to embed an “Apple tag” inside the unit so I would be able to find it again should I loose it. I would certainly recommend this to other folks that work with networks a lot.
Finally Updated!
WoWzors!!
Finally updated for ios13 Fixes all issues and adds feature.
Terrible, crash-prone, no updates

This app hasn't been updated in over a year. It is extremely crash-prone across multiple iOS devices. The UI is clunky. No way to stop a test in progress, and no way to save a suite of tests to run. You always have to select each test individually. The export is terrible. There is no saved database of tested ports. You can generate a single PDF (full-page letter) after running your tests, but run another test and that original data is gone. There is no overview PDF that can put multiple ports on the same page.
