Give your eyes the break they're begging for just for a little cost.
Staring at screens all day leaves your eyes dry, tired, red, and strained. Eyecare 20 20 20 fixes that with one gentle reminder every 20 minutes — and now it can run on its own, so you never have to remember to start it.
It's built on the doctor-recommended 20-20-20 rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds. That tiny habit relaxes your eye muscles, reduces digital eye strain, and helps prevent the dryness and redness that come from long screen time.
Set it once, then forget it.
Tell Eyecare your working hours — for example, weekdays from 8 to 4 — and the app starts and stops your reminders automatically on those days. No tapping, no thinking about it. Your eye breaks just happen while you work.
Prefer a nudge instead? Set a fixed daily reminder and the app will tell you when it's time to start, so the habit sticks even on your busiest days.
Three ways to use it — pick what fits you:
* Manual — Tap Start when you begin, tap Stop when you're done.
* Auto-schedule — Choose your days and hours (like weekdays 8–4) and reminders run automatically.
* Daily start reminder — Get a nudge at a fixed time to begin your session.
Dead simple. Zero learning curve.
No accounts. No complicated settings. Whether you run it by hand or let it run itself, Eyecare quietly works in the background while you do.

I struggle with some vision problems and remembering to take breaks is important for me to be able to use my functional vision at work. I have tried several apps for this and so far this has been the best one. I like that it has thr option both to automatically start during work hours or to remind you to start the app. I do wish it would make a sound after the 20 second break is up, and the option to upgrade to paid and change the time increments isn't working. It would also be nice if it kept track of time specific to screen time, but the 20 minute timer is still helpful for me for time management at work. It would be nice to be able to select different sounds to play as well. But I like that there's no dealing with any kind of annoying ads and for a free app it's excellent. I would pay the $2 even without additional functions just for the value and to support the developer but the link doesn't work
Almost Awesome

(1) Update 2.5 supposedly added a vibrate event at end of 20 seconds of looking away. This doesn’t seem to be working. Could this be fixed, and could an alert tone play as well? Ideally, I’d love to see 2 switches on the settings pane for the end of the 20 seconds: a switch for vibrate and a switch for alert tone. That way, a user could select vibrate, or alert sound, or both, or none. For all alerts: it would be really neat if we could choose the sound that plays.(2) Update 2.6 says “made it easier for you to give feedback”. I thought this meant a way to give feedback from within the app - if so, I couldn’t find it. The only way to give feedback seems to be by writing this review.Other than that this app is super helpful and I truly appreciate what you’ve done!!! 😀

This app was purchased for and is helping me stay task with an uncomfortable excercise i need to do throughout the day. I wish I could set the reminder for 15 minutes but it looks like 20 minutes is the shortest.Hey while I’m at it, there is a need for an app that works on Apple Watches that helps you spell by displaying the words on the watch as you speak them. Apple Notes does this but times out and that does not help you when you are up front during a meeting and having to write notes on a white board. Pretty simple whole that needs a solution.

Thank you for the kind words. The limitation is from Apple’s end and hence 20 minutes is the maximum we can do. We like the idea you suggested. Let me see what we can do about it.
Bad execution of good idea

It’s hard to complain about free apps, but this app is pretty much useless. It’s basically just a 20-minute timer that resets itself. Only fractionally better than setting the timer on the clock app. So, it still runs even if you’re not using your phone. Which also means that it might tell you to take a break even if you’ve only been using your phone for two minutes. And, it’s constantly telling you to take a break even if your phone is lying on the table. For something like this to be useful, it should only run the timer when the phone is in your hands. Also, as another reviewer mentioned, it doesn’t tell you when the 20 second break is up. And, you either have to manually start the app or set it to run during certain hours. There should be an option for it to run all the time (but, again, only if it were to run only when the phone was actually being used). Great idea, but pretty useless in reality.

Hi Everett,Thank you for your feedback. It is greatly appreciated. I think you did not see our settings section as we have made the changes you are looking for.1. You can have it running all the time. If you don't stop it manually it will keep running.2. We also have a timer that tells you when your 20 seconds are over.3. The reason we run it even when it is lying on table is because it is natural for us to get lost in work and forget about our eyes. This reminder will help you take a break every 20 minutes. I hope that helps. Thank you.
Added a toggle in Settings to turn off the 20-second break-end notification
