SRPG
Partia 3 is a SRPG (Strategy Role-playing) video game inspired by Fire Emblem and Tear Ring Saga series. In a high fantasy setting, the game will take players through an adventure where magic and sword collide and friendship and betrayal intertwine.
Partia 3 : The Knight of Partia is the third installment of the Partia series that wraps up the 'Granian Trilogy'. However, the game is designed as a stand-alone set in hundreds of years after the events of Partia 2, hence no knowledge of the prior games is required.
The game includes 30 stages (including 5 hidden stages) that should provide solid 30 plus hours of game play if not 50 or 100.
It is not a graphically good looking game nor has the big sprite animated battles that Fire Emblem games have. UI can be a bit clunky and looks 'meh', in most places at best.
But if there's any labor of love, this must be it. Despite the financial failures of the first two Partia games, I kept on making this game, alone for five years, putting all my free times and vacations into, because frankly I was obsessed about finishing off this thing.
But I've had a lot of fun making it, and I still had more fun playing the game myself. I'm sure you will have some joy out of it, if you are a fan of Fire Emblem and Tear Ring Saga series.
Now mobile game landscape has changed a lot since I started out this journey back in 2011. There are now a lot of quality games in the App store, including a Fire Emblem itself!
I realized a few years ago I no longer served any good value to customers who were looking for a little SRPG experience on mobile. As I'm writing this, Partia 2 sold slightly more than 2K units in 5 years. So obviously this is not a money making venture, of which I hope my next idea is going to be, unlike this Partia thing.
Anyways, the result is a paid game, with no ad, no IAP, and no catch anywhere. I'm not even tracking any data as, frankly I don't see a point in doing that. You see I am already resigned to the fate this little big indie game is for the lovers only.
For The Lovers Only.
So this may be the final time I write a game description on an App Store. Or maybe not.
Whoever you are, I hope you enjoy. If you can, please let me know how you find your experience.
Thank you!
Dustin
The detail in this game is great. Just as the first and second Partia games, the storyline is exciting. I like the new additions to the game such as the recruitment option and unlimited purchases of weapons from the shops. There’s just one thing I’m having trouble with. Right before I went into the Chapter 7 mission, I noticed there were two Fletchs in my HQ. So I thought it would go away when I finished the mission as it might’ve been a minor glitch. Well, I finished the mission and I went to organize my inventory to find out that I have 30 Fletchs filling in all my remaining slots. I was just wondering if you guys know what I should do to solve this. Other than that, this game is great!Edit: So I ended up going to an older save because I wasn’t that far into the game and it all worked out great. I’m on chapter 15 now and I’ve decided to recruit a few troops, so I could mess around with a unit of Cavaliers or Armor Knights. Once again, I LOVE THIS GAME! For a solo project, Partia 3 earns flying colors on many aspects from its gameplay and story to the little things such as the animations and the intermission menu. I find it hard to put my phone down when I open Partia 3. You might as well be a lead developer for Fire Emblem games because the quality of Partia 3, let alone the series, exceeds all expectations. I’m surprised it’s not more well known. Thank you for gifting many people with a beautiful game that deserves more appreciation!

Wow Fletch clones in your army? Now this is a new and never-before-seen issue! I checked my code and there's no Fletch adding event after the player choice in stage 3 for sure. Indeed very strange. I will try to reproduce the issue but perhaps you may want to reload an older save because if you have all the spots occupied you cannot recruit more units... or you could try killing extra Fletches in the arena for now? lol
This series.

This series of games be it small is amazing. By far one of the best indie series i have played. You said in the description you did this by yourself then i applaud you. The first two games have been great. I dont think of them as time wasters as other mobile games tend to be. They are works of art. Beautiful games in an old school style. As i said in my crappily written review of Partia 2 and Partia i planned on buying all 3 after i started the first one. It has been a journey and I will still play the first two games as they are amazing. But i havent started this yet. I just wanted to show my support. And it is very clear the ui jump from the first to the second game as it got a lot better. If the experience in this one is better than the second installment I will be more than pleased. Thank you for producing this series. And thank you for being who you are. We need more people like you in this world. Stick to their plans see things through not monetizing every little thing. Yes the game is paid to play but its a one time purchase for an unlimited amount of play. I wish i could support you some other way since now i have purchased all 3 of your games. If you had decided to pick up developing another im sure some people would come back and buy it myself included. You have done great work.

Oh man, thank you very much and I really appreciate your kind words. This game series took a chunk of my life so every time somebody enjoy the games I get a satisfaction that I didn't waste it away LOL! Anyways please let me know if you have any suggestion and such as the games still have rooms for improvements. Thank you again!

So I just bought the partia games and I can say playing them back to back, it's an amazing series. I absolutely am in love with the stories, they style. It's retro in the best way. I'm not sure if it's been asked for but I would love to see your take on a different genre after this. As a writer and an srpg junkie your games make me want to try my own hand at crafting a small scale mobile project.Really appreciate all of the hard work, and what a refresher to not have in app purchases and pay walls. My only "complaint" is that I'd love to see more animations or variation in the existing animations, but to be honest the minimalism is also a plus. I HATE the long drawn out cut scenes of modern FE titles during combat. Can't wait to see and experience your next project! And if you ever put out any dlc or expansions just know I'll buy them!

Wow thanks for your kind words! I'm glad someone's enjoying the Partia stories especially, as I know they are not everyone's cup of tea. ;-)Personally I feel you should try your hand on making SRPG games as I would certainly enjoy playing more of them, and I think there are tools such as SRPG maker which might make the process easier. For my next game I'm tinkering with doing a short something with Partia 2's main character, Pell, as I feel there are many adventures in future with him, and he is a red haired quiet guy, lol. Thanks again for your support!

When you boot up the game there are 3 options: Horse rule, active turn, and expert mode. Unless you want to be beaten to the point where you likely won’t be able to progress any further in the main story, I recommend turning this option off. I say that because the official description is “for more balanced difficulty” and by default it’s turned ON. I was able to make it about 4 missions in losing 1-2 people per mission, but by the time you get to the 5th (?) mission set in the desert I had only 6 members left, and I left the mission with 2. This is mostly because of the ballistae stationed around the map which will one shot your weaker soldiers and have ridiculous range. Now after that mission i was able to recruit my own soldiers for relatively cheap, but it turned out not to matter in the end because my level one troops did only 1 dmg to most of the troops at that point. So I’m stuck 5 hours in with a bunch of ineffective troops and now I have to restart the game. That being said I’m going to try it again without expert mode because the gameplay and story were worth it. Here’s to hoping that without expert mode on the game won’t be so punishing.
Developer Response
LOL I'm sorry you have to restart the game but your description of your journey really warms my heart, for Expert mode was made to make the game challenging without being unfair, just like my memories of early Fire Emblem games. Now in regular 'casual' mode the exp gain will be much higher and you won't have too much trouble progressing through the stages since your units will be higher levelled than the enemies! Thank you very much for playing the game, truly!
The game is retrofit to use the latest Partia engine used for TOP and WS, enabling full screen.
Also sadly I could not reconcile the game's updated engine to work with older save files: So you may need to delete the game and reinstall to start it from the beginning.
