Watch out for changed pick up time right before you pay.
If you’re going in for coffee with a friend you might want to order two coffees instead of one. The app not only doesn’t let you order multiple coffees but only allows one order at a time to be processed. This means not only can you not do it in one order but you can’t do multiple orders. Please fix this. EDIT: Ok now that I’ve figured out how to order two coffees it defaults to this and I have to delete one....really? Can’t I change my default order? The other BIG problem is that it gives you a pick up time and right when you go to pay, it changes the time on you. I’m usually on the way to the airport, so suddenly adding 20 minutes to my pick up time right when I go to pay REALLY doesn’t work for me.

We're sorry for the confusion! You can include up to 4 drinks in one order. To place another order, you'd have to wait until the first order is complete. This is a decision we made based on our current barista workflow, however we're revisiting and may change this in a future update.
Also, the "Favorites" feature was designed so that your regularly ordered items will show up there for convenience. You can order any drink individually from the "Menu" page. We are working on an editable Favorites feature, and hope to have it available very soon!
As far as the time change, that shouldn't happen often but there is a cancellation option on the notification if the new time doesn't work for you. The app needs to be redesigned. For example why doesn’t it save your special instructions. I always have the same special instruction which is “ICED with 3 packets of equal.” At least Caviar would save that order as a favorite. Now I have to type in the additional line ever time. Why isn’t “iced” even a standard option?
Another problem is the notifications are not user friendly. I never get a text or notification that my order has been accepted or is ready for pickup unless I actually open the app to check. Dangerous while driving needless to say.
This is an example of another app designed by someone that didn’t actually use it in a real world situation.

Thank you so much for the the feedback. We are working on an update that will allow you to choose hot or iced as an option and one that will save your special instructions. You should see those soon. I will be sure to share your feedback about notifications. Our intention was to not flood you with too many updates, but you make some great points!
Pointless, so pointless
I’ve seen the “app coming soon” signs at all the Philz spots for roughly the past many many months so was super excited to download and use their app. I thought, “No more unreasonably long lines for me to enjoy a tasty beverage!” But alas it was not to be. Caviar is ok but is not accepted at 2 of the Philz I use frequently. Imagine how forlorn I was to find that I can’t use the Philz app anywhere in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. They’re apparently... very... very .... slowly... “rolling it out” everywhere except here in Philz beloved home region. Even the Philz baristas I’ve spoken to share a good chortle with me as we discuss the irony of all the “coming soon” signs that have been up for several trimesters, with nary a useful app to appear “soon”. Deleted off my phone for now but will look into it again later.
