Thanks for all the awesome support! In this update we made some small but significant changes. For one, we added some new hats for 2016! Our personal favorite is the PB and J :) We also changed the way stars show up in the game. A whole bunch of you said that you didn't like how it made the game more difficult to enjoy because two dots showed up, but only one was the star. So we combined them. Now the star shows up in the goal, this way, you can collect them and enjoy the game without any confusion. We assume some of you out there might not agree with the change, but we're committed to improving the game and listening to feedback from players like you. Thanks again for playing! After over 10 million downloads we've heard a lot of feedback. One of the biggest items you all asked for was some customization! So we added hats! Now you can unlock a Santa hat, a King Crab, a Pirate hat, and many many more!! We also added 100 more levels for those who can't get enough. We also changed the icon for the season, so expect more hats, more levels, and more locks to pop in the very near future!

Wow, what a week to release. Pop the Lock rose to the number one free app on the entire store. Over 4 million players!! That's unreal, and our small little team wants to tell you all just how much we feel the love! Now, are you ready to feel the love?! We read ALL of your reviews and we worked our tails off to bring you an update that would make you smile! 100 New Levels: LULzTEFFA said, "I am a big fan of this game [already] at 90 locks and it's getting harder and longer. I recommend you play this game sober." Sounds like you're almost out of levels. That just won't do. Good news for you! We've added 100 more for a total of 209 levels, and yes, they are harder and longer too. Also, about your recommendation to play Pop the Lock sober. Sure, why not. We'll try anything once. Happiness: Josh Rath said, "It's been a long time since a game has made me happy, yet challenged without the need to throw my iPhone into a wall after 10 minutes." You have a strange definition of happiness Josh. But hey, we don't judge, we're just happy we're keeping that iPhone away from the wall. Settings Menu/Remove Ads: Angelfreak91 said, "Put in an option to pay for Ad removal?" Playing Pop the Lock without the ads is how we initially designed the game. It's simple, gorgeous, and best of all, you can focus on popping that next lock! A Better Looking Lock: ForzaFire said, "I love this game so much but during my play time I noticed that the lock is very pixelated on my eyes." In the last update we made the lock bigger but it added some pixelation like you said. Thanks for noticing and letting us know. It's a small detail, but those are the big things that matter to us when your playing a game for a long time. We got you! The lock is now updated. All fresh, new, and crispy. Tutorial: srloo17 said, "To The Developers: you might want to think about adding some directions or a tutorial." To srloo 17: We added the word "tap" to the first level. We're hoping that addresses the new players that need a little help. If that's not enough, we added a "How to play" button in the new settings menu! How cool, and if you tap it you'll see that one of our reviewers made it into the game. So thank you srloo, thank you Swarkles for your awesome review telling people how to play, and thank you to all our other reviews who shared the same feedback. Level Select: -=Kri5=- said, "It would be cool if there was a menu screen that you could go to any previous level. I wanted to show someone the game, but they had to start on my level 25 which was difficult for them." You want to go back to old levels and play them?! Ummm, ok yeah!!! So we put a level select in the menu. We did our part, now you must go and show this game to EVERYONE. Ads: Ok, so there isn't a review for this, but as you all know, we tried ads during the first few days and it was horrible so we removed them. This past week we designed, what we think, is a fair setup for ads. First, we added in ads that show up after winning every 2 locks. This way it's not distracting your game while you're playing. Now for the second part. We added the option to watch a video every now and then when you lose on a lock, and if you watch the video, you'll get another shot to keep going to beat the lock where you lost. This way, if you're really close to beating a lock but just need an extra boost, you can get it. For those purists out there who don't want an advantage, no prob, you can opt out, and beat it the old fashion way, with blood, sweat, and tears ... ok, actually, if that's how you're beating levels you should consult a doctor, lol. We're here to hear feedback, if you're not thrilled with the ad placement, if you think it's too much, or if you have new ideas, we're all ears. We're learning from you to make a better game! Hi everyone, This has been an unreal moment for us. So many of you already love this little game so much and we're just getting started. This is so cool! First though, some of you are upset about the lost progress and ads popping up so here's the deal. We are super super sorry if anyone lost their progress over the past day. We made a small mistake (as in we left one line of code in accidentally that reset progress while we were testing it). It has been fixed, so you won't lose progress, but at Simple Machine we feel that no matter the size of the mistake, it rests on our shoulders. As fellow game lovers, you have our sincerest apology. The worst feeling is to know that we messed up a player's time that they spent dedicated to our game. We hope that you'll consider sticking with us and giving our little game another go. We will make sure we don't make this mistake again. As for the ads. Full disclosure, this is only the third game we've made where our team is solely supported by the ads shown in the game. We are working to get to a place where: - the ads are fair to you the player, so you can have an awesome experience in our game - fair for us, so we can pay our employees and keep them happy so we can make your next great gaming experience. We're learning with every game we release. That said, we're not always going to get it right every time. With Pop the Lock, we've learned that the pop up interstitials are not presented in a way that is fair for you and many of you are accidentally tapping on them. We're not that type of company and we don't want you to feel that way in our game so we've removed them completely. There will still be banner ads at the bottom, but no pop up ads after losing for now. We will work on Monday to build pop up ads into the game that are presented to you fairly. We hope you will help us by providing helpful review feedback on the fairness of the ads as well as any other concerns, comments, and compliments (we do love compliments). Hey all, with this new update we fixed the Game Center issue and added in ads that support us to continue to make great games. Unfortunately, we left one line of code in that will reset your game to level 1. We're super sorry about this and we're having it fixed immediately. Thanks for understanding. As far as the ads go, we updated Pop the Lock to include ads that we had in the game originally but weren't previously triggering. We realize ads aren't your favorite thing in the world, but it does keep our tiny studio growing and it keeps our employees paid and happy, which is one of the most important things to us.
