Description

TrackMyTour lets you track, share, and relive your travel adventures.

**HOW IT WORKS**

TrackMyTour is a simple travel blogging app. Each blog entry (or "waypoint") consists of a date, time, and location. Waypoints can also include text and photos.

The app creates an interactive map of your waypoints, which you can share with your family and friends. They can follow along with the app or with a web browser on any device.

**SHARE WITH FAMILY & FRIENDS**

Each map has a secret link, which you can share with your family and friends. They can visit the link at anytime to see your updates and a map of your journey. The can also register and follow with the app, leave comments, react to your waypoints, and receive notifications when you post an update.

Visit https://trackmytour.com/explore/ to see examples of some presently ongoing tours.

**FREEMIUM & PLUS VERSIONS**

The Freemium version of TrackMyTour provides everything you need to track your tour. For many it might be enough.

TrackMyTour Plus is a subscription-based upgrade for users who like the app and want a little more. It unlocks some additional features not found in the Freemium version.

**CREATE A BOOK**

After your journey you can create and order a photo book consisting of your locations, photos, and captions (needs a laptop or desktop computer). TrackMyTour Books does the heavy lifting of laying out the content, and gives you the tools to fine tune the book to your liking.

**FEATURES**

TrackMyTour is not a real-time tracker, which saves battery power and keeps roaming costs at a minimum. Waypoints can also be saved offline when a network connection is not available, and submitted later when you're back online (e.g., hotel WiFi).

Give it a try and happy touring!

Fantastic App for Bicycle Touring!

I highly recommend TrackMyTour for anyone contemplating remote travel, whether by foot, by motorcycle, or by bicycle. TrackMyTour is free; it’s small and simple; it uses incredibly little battery power; it allows you to submit customizable waypoints complete with weather info, activity type (picnic, shopping, point of interest, etc.), time and date, location, written descriptions, and photographs; it allows you to save “offline” waypoints and upload them later (when you get cell service again); and it lets you create a private link to be shared with family and friends so they know you’re still alive. Anyone who has the link can observe your progress and even comment on your tour. If you want to upload more and larger photos, you can upgrade to the “premium” version for a one-time payment of less than $20. This is my go-to app for my bicycle tours, and I enthusiastically recommend it for anyone contemplating long-distance travel. No complaints whatsoever!

Best trip app ever

Ive been using this app for over three years now. First I used it to record my work life overseas. Since my retirement, I use it daily as a kind of personal life and travel log. I often make multiple entries in the course of a day. The app is totally user friendly without compromising quality. The interface is clean, uncluttered and aesthetically pleasant. Any updates are always thoughtful and improve the experience, like the ability to upload more than one image per post and now the ability to make a movie. Another excellent feature is to have the option of complete privacy, not sharing one’s entries, and to keep more than one “stream “ going. That way, one can keep a personal journal and still share a trip or other event with friends or family. Don’t change the layout or any of the features described. Looking forward to the promised “fog” option among the weather icons. Oh - and customer service is par none: prompt polite, efficient. Thanks much!

A great example of what an iOS app should be

This is a wonderful app. It does one thing - lets you take photos of things you see on your trip and add captions to them. It can then display those photos in order in either a list or on a map. There are interfaces to see the photos in iOS and also in a browser. A link for each specific trip is provided so that you can share the trip with friends and family or your network.

It is very easy to add waypoints, which is what the photos are called, and you can add optional data such as the weather or type of point. And if the camera didn't capture the map location correctly, there is an easy way to fix it.

These single purpose apps are what iOS is built for, and track my tour is a great example of how to do it right. Kudos and thanks to everyone involved in making and supporting this app.
