Great app

I’ve been using 5/3/1 for years now. It has been great for tracking my progress. There are few things that need addressing though and I hope they coming soon. De-load week warm up sets finish heavier than working sets. PB, when number of reps entered PB comes up with the little trophy icon, however if I was to try to lower the number of reps then, the PB value remain the same and does not adjust to the new reps number. I hope my feedback helps. Happy lifting !

Pretty good, could be better, esp if your paying for the pro version

This seems ok, but a couple of tweaks could be good. Firstly, it doesn’t allow you to combine the main lifts into one session. As part of the 531 program, there’s an option to, for example, squat & bench Monday, deadlift & overhead press Wednesday, then squat & bench the Friday. The following Monday would be deadlift & overhead press, and so on. This makes the teaming of assistance exercises tricky.

Also I actually calculated all my weights based on the 1RM formula (really 90% etc), and found that the app doesn’t give 2.5 increments when it should. Ie it had me squat 30kg, 35kg then 40kg, when it should’ve been 32.5, 37.5 then 42.5. I know this seems like splitting hairs, and if you’re already pretty strong 5kg increments aren’t probably a thing, but at the lower end, as a percentage of the total weight, it becomes more significant, ie 30 to 35 is a 16% jump rather than a more manageable 8%.

It’s otherwise fairly intuitive and the better of the 531 apps I’ve seen. You’ll need the Pro version though for anything meaningful long term.

Great once you get the hang of it

Because there are so many variations and customisations possible with the app it took me a while to get use to it after using the Strong Lifts 5x5 app. I realised when going in and viewing my workouts for the week and setting up accessories I was pressing the wrong buttons and saving the workout and it was the setting my next work out to 3 reps. After I worked that out and deleted my data and started again everything is awesome. Not as polished as Strong Lifts UX but probably the best I could find for the 5/3/1 program
