The Bible with Nicky and Pippa 4+

My husband and I have been doing the Bible in One Year with Nicky Gumbel in YouVersion for years so we decided to try the new app. It’s the same devotional commentary, which Nicky keeps updated but the format is different. There are 3 options within the app and I decided to do the youth version for something different. It adds in a short intro and outro by Toby (?) as well as the Bible readings being read by Toby. If you don’t enjoy a Kiwi accent, this isn’t for you but I like the addition.
I like that the Bible passages are read before the commentary, unlike YouVersion when they are all at the end and often seem disconnected and somewhat random.
What I miss is having the opportunity to write my own insights at the end. Of course I could do that in a book but I like the option to do it online.
I’ve also not had success sharing the app with others from within the app. I click the link but nothing happens.
If you’re a fan of Alpha and enjoy Nicky’s stories and passionate teaching, you’ll enjoy this app. Of course I also appreciate Pippa’s honest comments. She often says just what I’m thinking!

I’m 25 and this app has allowed me to read the Bible for the first time, I’ve always been a Christian but honestly the Bible to me has always been a bit daunting, I never knew where to begin. The way this app allows you to choose your path then breaks the Bible up into daily bites size pieces is fabulous. I’m learning so much. The commentary is relatable, and enjoyable after each section, each day contains New Testament and Old Testament, plus prayers. I love having it read to me while I follow along. Such a wonderful and life changing app, the time and effort that has gone into this app is mind blowing. If anyone is reading this, this is your sign to download and change your life with Gods Word!

A very brief comment from someone who has just started using the Alpha Bible In One Year app.
With getting older I am finding I fall asleep if I attempt reading to a one year schedule even though I am motivated. So, listening is proving to be just what I need at this stage of my life.
It looks like the commentary and bits in between the Wisdom, NT & OT & Pip’s bit are pretty much up to date so it looks like they must be reviewed frequently (? Yearly perhaps). This is all very encouraging and I am generally finding I stay awake and engaged just listening. My ear pods (a gift) are a positive plus in this scenario as the audio does not distract anyone else.
