Subscription?! Really?!

I want to see the boardroom meeting where they decided to put a subscription on their mediocre iPad app. I love using my canon cameras because of how easy they are and part of that ease of use is the free software. even though the software is simple and can’t compare with offerings from Adobe, it at least used to be free. Now they want to charge for it every month even after they already charge you for the camera!
The worst thing is that I used this app when it was free and now I have to find something else because there’s no way in hell I’ll pay a monthly subscription for something that came free with my camera.

Full app free for computers

I have been a Canon user for close on 50 years and ever since their DSLR’s have been out, they have supplied the full version of DPP for computer use free with their cameras. I can’t for the life of me can understand how they can charge for a very much cut down version for phones and tablets. Although I predominantly use Adobe for most of my editing, I find the full version of DPP picks up on more of the camera’s settings and continue to use it on my PC.

Sorry, spending $10k/year on camera gear isn’t enough?

“Tell ‘em they’re Dreamin’…”
I/we/all of us spend vast amounts on Cameras, lenses, flashes and accessories… and some Canon executive twits feel the need to charge for this very limited app? Rack off. I’ll/we’ll just keep paying $1200 per year to Adobe to do it right…
Canon, either offer it free, to support your product or scrap it… don’t try charging for a product that is already heavily subsidised by your high profit products.
