Description

With Contacts on iOS, iPadOS and macOS, you can store and manage your and others’ contact information, birthdays, Contact Posters and more. Easily connect with your contacts with Mail, Messages, Phone or FaceTime. Or instantly share your Contact Poster and your number or email address with someone new through NameDrop on iPhone and Apple Watch.

Manage Your Contacts
Easily add people to your contacts, and sync their contact information across all your devices with iCloud, Microsoft Exchange, Google and other syncing services. If your contacts choose to, you can automatically get updates to their Contact Poster through Messages, Phone and FaceTime as well.

Get Connected Quickly
When you need a contact’s information, you can search to find who you’re looking for. You can then quickly message, call, FaceTime, email or even Apple Pay them. If you add their social profile to their contact card, you can jump to it with a tap. And if you add their birthday, you’ll also see it in Calendar so you never miss it.

Store Your Personal Information
Create a My Card in Contacts to store your own contact information including your phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses and more. You can then use the information in your My Card to use Autofill to instantly complete forms online or in apps across iOS, iPadOS and macOS.

Customise Your Contact Poster
Create a customised poster to represent yourself when you connect with others using Messages, Phone and FaceTime. Choose from various treatments for photos, Memoji and your name, and choose to automatically share it with your contacts or be asked each time before you share.

Share your Contact with NameDrop
Exchange contact information with someone new by simply bringing your iPhone near their iPhone or Apple Watch. Your name and Contact Poster are automatically included every time, and you can select the phone number or email address you want to share from your My Card along with it.

Use Contacts on Apple Watch
Select people from your contacts to use as a complication on your watch face for easy access, and quickly connect with them through Messages, Phone or Mail straight from your wrist. You can also create new contacts and customise existing contacts, or exchange contact information with someone new using NameDrop with their iPhone or Apple Watch.

Reliable for a 2000s App

I had a Nokia phone in the 2001 that allowed me to manage contact groups more easily than the current Apple contact app. It also allowed me to assign ring tones to groups.

Think about that - that's 20 years ago my phone had that ability.

C'mon Apple.

Contact Groups, PLEASE!!!

I basically love my current iPhone, iPad & watch! But the Contacts App is & has been the worst native app. When I bought my first iPhone 3s I noticed this deficiency straight away! My biggest issue has been and is the “Groups” function, my 85 year old mother reminded me of the issue the other day, when she asked me how she can group her contacts on her iPhone. So I did a little research & read the user guides and NOT to my surprise the core functionality of this app has not changed in 10 years, APPLE has done nothing, Nada, zip & SFA to allow users and very loyal customers to use a feature that is so prominent within the app (Even my mother found it & thought how she could use it). A user should be able to add a contact and specify or select the group that that contact is to belong too. A user should be able to easily move or copy contacts to a group or multiple groups. I sometimes think Apple has forgotten that they are in the smart phone business and having a good Contacts Management App is a key requirement. Come on Apple, give us a group management function that is native to the iPhone & iPad Contacts App, not some next to useless iCloud work around. Oh and a better search and filter engine would be nice too.

Why

Why does it say 4+ LIKE WHAT!!!!!! 🙀 I don’t even understand why the heck four 4️⃣ year olds would have their friend’s contact when they’re 4 , the rating is so stupid but, the whole app is AMAZING expect, the rating. So contacts, please 🙏 change the rating to at least 7+ or 8+.
