So handy

I wasn’t sure what to think when I started my new job and being told our shifts are ran through an app. It’s so handy though. I often forget to clock in on time but it’s easy to adjust, very convenient to have all your shifts on a calendar without having to lift a finger. You can also see who’s in work that day too. It would be good to get a reminder the night before a shift in addition to the morning but that’s not a deal breaker. So easy to book time off etc too.

I am reviewing from both perspectives as we installed Deputy into our restaurant of 30 staff. What great business efficiency, cost savings, rostering, time recording & payroll even better at LOW cost. BUT it does have one flaw (we have recorded this with Deputy) the system allows staff to manually adjust the break time so this corrupts the integrity of the time recording and can cost businesses money so big error with design. Other than that fabulous particularly as it interfaces so easily and reliably with Xero.
Later after selling business I moved to a job that coincidentally used Deputy and loved it from a staff perspective. I would like to see them enable Unavailability edits eg deletions to be done on a phone (as can be created) rather than having to log on to a PC quiet inconvenient at times.
As a previous admin systems specialist I strongly recommend this App BUT it still has room for improvement, but Deputy very responsive to ideas and helping with problems.

Really annoying

First I could not receive any emails from deputy so couldn’t set up my account. I managed to get around this by asking them to use my personal email to set the account up then switch it to my work email after setup. Next thing I was not able to log in although I was using the correct password, had to reset multiple times and it eventually let me in and I was able to view my shifts. Now a week later it says I am not connected with any business (despite previously being able to access my shifts and timesheets) so now I need to contact my company and get them to set me up again. All in all have wasted many hours trying to set up a basic Deputy account, missed out on my first pay and don’t know if my leave is approved or not so can’t plan my holiday. Seems like everything that could go wrong has gone wrong with this programme, huge waste of my time.
