Drive mate - Share & Rent Cars 4+

Happy to see an alternative after Uber Car Share shutdown. Improvement area for the app - when taking photos and switching between portrait to landscape and vice-versa, the “save” goes into the corner of the phone and won’t respond to tapping. I had to do my odometer and fuel gauge photos 3x coz whatever got uploaded initially disappeared when closing and reopening the app.

I don’t know how there are positive reviews about this app. But firstly, I signed up and after submitting my credit card details and copies of my drivers license. They sent me an email that my account couldn’t be verified. When I reached out to query about this, they said my drivers license document wasn’t sufficient. So I asked if they’d want me to resubmit, or submit a different document and they just said no, you can’t be verified and that’s the end of it. For the record, there is absolutely no reason why I’d be denied. I’ve been using uber Carshare and Turo for ages.
Then I reluctantly accepted defeat and asked them to delete my account (especially documents I submitted and my CREDIT CARD details) and also to refund me the deposit I had paid to book a car. They kept gaslighting me saying my account was deleted when it wasn’t, I could still be on the app and see my credit card details stored. After MULTIPLE attempts I think they’ve deleted my account finally and I haven’t yet received the refund.
What kind of scam business app is this?! Surely I can’t be the only one with this experience!

I use carshares weekly, and though I’ve signed up to Drivemate, there’s a few niggles with it that mean its never the one I go to. Firstly, you can’t hire cars by the hour - the app only shows cars by the day. Secondly, you have to fill the car up every time you use it so it is returned with the same amount of fuel you got it, which adds time to any trip. Thirdly, the app doesn’t let you search for pet friendly cars. Fourthly, most of the cars near me seem to need me to meet the owner for the keys. There are a few cars near me that I’d want to use, but these things stop me from ever doing it. Hopefully they’ll get sorted soon.
