Description

Access and organise your files no matter where they’re located — on your device, in the cloud, on an external drive or file server— with Files. The Recent view displays the files you’ve been working on lately in high-resolution thumbnails. Use the powerful Browse view to navigate folders, organise your files with tags, move files between folders, and search. Files also makes it easy to access iCloud Drive and third-party cloud storage services such as Dropbox, Box and OneDrive.

Features

• Press the Files icon in the Dock or Home screen to quickly open a file from anywhere

• Connect an external drive or SD card to your device to access the files

• Connect to a file server at work or a home PC using SMB from Files.

• Use tags to organise files stored with different cloud providers and across different apps.

• Pin your favourite folders in Browse view for quick access to the ones you use most.

• Give people access to any file stored in iCloud Drive by sharing a link from the Files app.

• Drag and drop to select files and organise them into folders.

Lemon demon

Bro I wish it had like a music playlist function and if it COULD PROPERLY READ MP3 OR FLAC FILES PROPERLY, sometimes it skips ahead, doesn’t let me repeat or just bugs out when playing music, I have to manually open my phone and go to the next song every few minutes and it got real annoying, if you want something better that allows clean audio, playlist compatibility AND a built in browser with its own history, DOWNLOAD NOTA PLAYER, ITS SO MUCH BETTER

Unreliable with NAS

The Files app is completely unpredictable when it comes to transferring or viewing files on my NAS. It either loses connection to the NAS, will let me transfer but the files don’t actually copy across, on the rare occasion that a file does transfer the folders flash on and off the screen and I can not access other folders while the transfer is occurring. If I remove the NAS and re-add it, Files won’t even show any of the folders that are on it, yet hours later it will just start to work randomly for short periods of time.

This isn’t due to my NAS, as many other similar apps work near flawlessly when connecting and transferring files. The only reason I want to use Files is because the transfer speeds seem to be better over wifi than other apps.

Markups - 2 pet peeves

These comments also apply to “markups” in the Books app.
1. Please have the ruler appearing at 0 degrees when selected. What possible purpose does it serve to have it appear at 45 degrees every time it’s selected anew?
2. Please do not have the ruler disappear every time a new page is scrolled, which then requires it to be selected again for every new page to be marked up. Quite annoying and a waste of time for documents >10 pages.
