Luxury Escapes: Travel Deals 4+

It all started one Sunday morning reading Escape travel, I left a post it note stuck to the Luxury Escape deal, for my husband, to read, as I set off for work.
“Pick a date” we are going to (Pan Pacific Nirwana Resort) Bali.
From that moment on, that’s how we love to travel. What we love most is the simplicity, we book 12 months in advance & all the travel arrangements, food, accommodation arrangements are done, even now booking flights, so easy.
Since then, our love of 5 star luxury has taken us to the most spectacular hotels & resorts in the world, to experience the most breathtaking experiences, from riding bareback while elephant trekking in the muddy river waters of Thailand, to jumping in the 32 degree ocean & waterskiing in front of our Jumeirah Zabeel Saray Hotel, taking in the epic view of Dubai Marina, or water sliding in in the BIGGEST waterpark in the World. Topping the day off with dressing up to the 9’s to dine!! Every night. It took 10 years, of wanting to jump into the pool at Palazzo Versace Hotel Gold Coast, it took Luxury Escapes to take me there.

This is a lovely hotel so when I saw this on Luxury escapes with the option to upgrade to a King size Spa room I thought it was going to be perfect for my 50th. The confirmation email confirms a detailed account of the room you are getting with a large black spa bath which in spa country secured my booking. When I checked in I got a small ordinary spa bath with a shower over the top. I went back to reception to tell them there was a mistake to get told the hotel was full and that luxury escapes had been told to stop advertising this picture of the room with the booking. I was so disappointed as I had envisaged this room for my50th for months. I got the room that overlooks the car park at the back with one chair in the room so that one of us had to have our drink sitting on the bed which I hate. I could not get reception on my phone to show them my booking until the last night. It wouldn’t have made a difference as to them the fine print says all rooms are different and not guaranteed, so why confirm ones booking with a full description of the beautiful black freestanding bath described in the confirmation? I felt so disappointed the whole trip after so looking forward to this room. I would be extremely cautious booking another trip with Luxury Escapes if ever. I felt very let down on this occasion.

We’ve been using LE for a very long time and found them good value for money right up until COVID. Lately, not so much.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a great company with an excellent app (more on this later). The service is also excellent and we have never been disappointed with the destinations which have been all around Australia and all over the world. So, big tick LE.
It just seems accommodation prices are now much more than they ever were, and although I could use any of a number of alternative booking sites I really can’t until my (substantial) COVID credit is used up.
On the new app; what happened to ‘Last Minute Escapes’? And why are there so few affordable offers for Sydney accommodation?

If you search for offers in Australia, you will usually see these after the exclusive offers in the search results. In general, you can look in any destination in the upcoming 2 weeks using the dates field in search.
