Misinformation and excess Luggage charges for allowed luggage weight

On our recent flight to Japan I was instructed by someone on a Webjet web chat that we had to be at Newcastle Airport 3 hours early for our 6am flight as it was considered an international flight. Newcastle Airport doesn’t even actually open until 4am, so we sat outside in the pitch dark for over an hour before any staff arrived to open the airport and check us in for what turned out to be a domestic flight, we were charged an excess luggage fee even though we were well under 30kg of baggage that was allowed on our ticket, then had to collect our luggage at Brisbane and make our way with it to the international terminal where it was then that we were checked in as international passengers.

Very easy to book tickets with but when a situation arises you will never ever get one cent back from them! Due to the whole caronavirus we had to cancel tickets and no longer be able to fly, instead of refund you money they give you credit to use when they hopefully open up again in god knows how many months.. people are loosing their jobs wouldn’t u think to return something that was paid for and the fulfilment wasn’t received? Very disappointed
Was on hold for 2 hours to get no response and to be told to on the website and fill in paperwork..
not happy
Even with travel insurance all you get is the 33$ back from the cover not the ticket cost and if they do refund you it can take 14 weeks

While we can certainly empathise in your situation, please understand that as a booking agent on behalf of the airlines and suppliers, we legally adhere to their imposed policies regarding COVID-19 and subsequent waiver policies, and we do not impose any fees to process on your behalf.
You can also find most airline policies on the airline’s website directly.

The Webjet Redemption ,

International Itinerary change - no communication

I booked two months prior to my travels.
I depart tomorrow.

I checked the flight schedule to find a change to my return flight by the air carrier, putting my flight back 1 hour. This means I would arrive at my connecting flight in another country 10 minutes late and therefore I would miss my flight.

Webjet did not inform me of the itinerary change, in fact I received zero communication from them. I am self informed so to speak! I informed them of the change in flight times.

I have contacted Webjet twice in the past 24 hours to inform and confirm if they have arranged a seat for me on the very next flight. The next flight would have me arrive at my destination 2 hours behind the arrival time of my original booking.....Still no confirmation and still waiting......Webjet what are you doing?

I can book a seat on this flight myself, as there are still seats available!!!!!

Webjet pease don’t send or reply with a ‘customer service’ or ‘quality improvement’ piece. Allocate this time to book my seat on the plane please!

For international schedule changes, within an hour of the airline notifying us of a change, Webjet’s automated system send an email (to the email address used when making the booking) for the customer to accept of decline the change.
If you decline the schedule change, you have the option to add a note to provide a preference for an alternative.
