I want to play locally stored video content on my Apple iOS devices. I tried a bunch of different media player apps and INFUSE was by far the best of them, so much so I went and purchased a lifetime license within an hour of testing it.It can find network devices, connect to them and stream the content with no hiccups. The video/audio playback is perfect. It all just works. It even does accurate meta data tagging, so it updates all your tv shows and movies with useful descriptions and title pictures. It’s obvious the developers behind this app have worked very hard to perfect the little things, and it’s noticeable. When you consider how many rubbish and buggy apps there are by big name companies it’s refreshing to come across one like this. Well done guys.
Awesome on my iPhone 8plus and 7plus
LilL..Tylenol
Been a long time user of VLC player for iPhone, after the IOS11 update, it stopped working, found my source, see it downloading then once it used my data there was a empty library with nothing there, tried heaps diff fixes, couldn’t get it to work, both on my iPhone 8plus running factory IOS11.0.3 and my 7plus running IOS11.1 beta2 with both having same issue above..Searched for a alternative and came across a few, this was by far the one that worked the easiest l, had dark mode theme, has a nice clean library setup with movie covers etc, works on all my devices, no hassles.. Will update to the Pro Version and pay the DEVS and grab me a few extra options..
Please fix the aspect ratios
Cask Strength W
Given that it is a free app I will not complain much but doesn’t matter how good the app looks and how many features it has, its main purpose still is to play a video. When I play videos in Infuse I am never able to auto adjust the aspect ratio like I can do in AVPlayer. In AVplayer you tap on the screen a couple of times and it changes the aspect ratio in such a way that apart from a couple of millimetres on the left and right, the whole screen displays the video. There are no massive black bars on top and bottom and on left and right. The best thing about AVplayer is that I don’t have to manually select an aspect ratio, it does that automatically. While in Infuse I am left with trying multiple different videos in order to find the one which displays the video on maximum screen real estate without cropping the video. If AVplayer can do it then you can too, I wish AVplayer were still updating and looking after their app because it may not have all the bells and whistles but it did got the job done pretty well.
Goodbye Plex!!
bjmarler
Having used Plex for many, many years and after the latest update which requires Plex server version 1.15 or greater, it was finally time to move to something different. The lack of updates on certain NAS versions was enough to force me to look elsewhere. After doing some research, the general consensus was that Infuse was worth looking at and boy, all those people were spot on the money!!It took around 5 minutes to install, fix up some incorrect matches and be ready to start watching my content. If you are in a similar position, do yourself a favour and within 20 minutes I already made the decision to upgrade to the Pro version.
