Guardian Monitor shows glucose data from a supported CGM service on your iPhone, Apple Watch and widgets, with its own alarms that keep working in the background.
It is built for the people doing the watching — a parent following a child, or anyone keeping an eye on someone close to them. The alarms are raised by your own phone, whatever the settings of the other person's system.
Supported sources: Medtronic CareLink and Sibionics. You choose your provider when signing in. An account with that service is required, because Guardian Monitor reads your data through it. The app never changes any setting in the original service — it only displays what is already there.
What it adds:
• configurable alarms with your own thresholds, sounds and snooze, including a prediction alarm before a limit is reached and a warning when readings stop arriving
• a background mode that keeps alarms reaching you even when the app is not open
• spoken glucose readouts and Siri support
• a full Apple Watch app with complications
• a Live Activity on the Lock Screen, in the Dynamic Island, on the Apple Watch and in CarPlay
• home screen and Lock Screen widgets
• statistics with time in range over any period you choose
• synchronisation with Apple Health and Nightscout (glucose, insulin, carbohydrates)
• one sign-in for all of your devices
What you see depends on the service you use. Sensor-only sources such as Sibionics report glucose alone, so insulin and meal information stays empty for them.
Guardian Monitor is for informational purposes only and must not be used to make medical decisions. Always rely on your CGM manufacturer's own application and your healthcare team.
Guardian Monitor is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Medtronic or Sibionics.
Guardian Monitor offers an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks alarms, the Apple Watch app, full 8-hour Live Activities, Apple Health and Nightscout synchronisation and spoken readouts. Everything else is free. Subscriptions are available as monthly or quarterly plans; the exact price for your region is shown in the app before purchase. The subscription is family shareable, so one purchase covers everyone in your Family Sharing group. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your Apple Account settings after purchase.

Has been working perfectly now it won’t connect/ update readings so I deleted the app and reinstalled it but am getting an error code 437?
Latest update added great features
_Incey
The update for the watch to allow you to show the whole of the previous 24 hours is great. The ability to write data to NightScout is brilliant.May I make a suggestion for a future update? Could you add an option to allow writing the data you read from Carelink into Apple Health? With this feature I’d give 5 stars
Can finally control alarms from phone
JohnnyClashmore
Turned off alarms on my pump so now don’t have to fish my pump out of my pocket every time an alarm goes off. When sugar levels are volatile this is a LIFESAVER!!Can’t believe the MiniMed app doesn’t have this functionality but well done and thanks Kacper 😊
App doesn’t update
.........qqq
I installed it on my iPhone 14 but the app doesn’t update. I always have to sign in again to get the updates to work only for the updates to last about an hour. Then I have to login again. I installed to get the widget on my iphone Lock Screen. But it’s no better then useless if the readings aren’t current. I have to login to my phone and check my cgm app to be sure what my levels are. Which begs the question, why have the guardian app?
Developer Response
Those constant re-logins came from how sessions were handled back then. Session refresh was reworked in the 1.0.x and 1.1 releases, and again in January 2026 with automatic re-login. On 1.7.1 the app keeps the session on its own.
- A shield next to the reading shows when the pump is running in automatic mode.
- Extended alarm configuration with additional options.
- Fixed a snooze issue that could silence alarms until the app was restarted.
- Minor battery usage optimizations.
