Great tool but dragged down by performance and limited widget

This is a really great app for finding lyrics. I use it with Marvis (a 3rd party Apple Music client), and it brings Apple Music-like synced lyrics functionality, which is awesome, - and the base lyrics-identifying feature is excellent and really useful. However as mentioned in other reviews, there are some performance issues (e. g a big, noticeable pause in audio when opening the app - on iOS 14). Secondly, the new widget with lyrics is nicely designed and a great idea, but it should be customisable to just use your playing history and library for quotes. Most of the time I get quote snippets from artists I really don’t care about, - whether they’re “trending” or not is irrelevant to me, I’d like to just get this view into my own music selection. Hence the 4 stars, - I’d happily give another star just for configurable widget tbh

I do like this app. It does allow you to do things you want to do (even if the execution isn’t the best), but I do find it quite buggy. Retrieving drafts from tracks you aren’t working on, freezes/crashes and some frustrating user interface design all negatively affect your experience. The slide to sync words is probably the most frustrating and a simple tap to start next word would be a welcome option. Given how they have split up the word sync feature, it’s surprising that they haven’t gone a step further to break up words into syllables but that might be a niche feature. The ability to edit just a small segment (instead of the entire track) would also be useful.

The recent update has helped with a lot of performance issues. My only issue with the app now is the ‘word by word’ syncing. I think the current mechanics of it aren’t the greatest. Short 4 to 5 word sentences are easy to sync, but when it comes to lines with more words (especially lines nearing 70 characters) you have to slide your thumb much less per word and it can be very finicky. I think it makes much more sense to have a true ‘word by word’ syncing mode where we just tap the screen at the start of every word and the app automates/auto-fills in the time it takes for each word and then have a fine tuning capability to really line up and sync words that need to be adjusted. This would be especially helpful in regards to fast paced rap songs and it would definitely increase the amount of users actually doing word by word syncing, because it really is a hassle the current way and I just can’t do it. Please consider adding this feature in future :)

This is probably ones of the most amazing music apps out there but there are to bug in the current version that annoy me. Firstly when I am syncing lyrics when I click the back button the whole app lags and it won’t sync and secondly when I try to identify it gets it and gets to the first line of the lyrics and the whole app freezes these are really frustrating and it would be great if these could be fixed.
