Onion Browser is the original free and open-source Tor-powered web browser for iOS. Onion Browser helps you access the internet with more safety and privacy, and no extra cost to you.
“The best Tor-related offering on iOS right now is Onion Browser” - The Daily Dot, October 14, 2015.
Featured in: The New York Times, The Guardian, Salon, TechCrunch, Gizmodo, Boing Boing, Lifehacker, Macworld, The Daily Dot, & others.
FEATURES:
• Browse the internet over Tor:
- Protect your privacy from website tracking
- Secure your traffic from insecure wireless networks and ISPs
- Access .onion sites that are only accessible over Tor.
• Fight online tracking: block scripts and automatically clear cookies and tabs, based on your preferences.
• And more privacy-enhancing features!
DISCLAIMERS:
- Web browsing is much slower than through a normal web browser or a VPN because your traffic is encrypted and relayed through the Tor network.
- Onion Browser might not work on networks with advanced network restrictions. If the app does not connect, try using bridges (or a different type of bridge), force-quit, and then restart the app.
- Use of Onion Browser is at your own risk; remember that sensitive data does not always belong on a mobile device.

it's almost rendered useless. It's slow, which tor itself has become, but the apps number 1 privacy setting (gold) literally doesnt allow any sites to be displayed, even search engine results often dont show up. If u want to view anything you have to enable javascript (silver setting). Meh. Becomes like any other non private browser then.Dont expect much.
Only Tor browser I would trust

Google "Mike Tigas" the developer of this app and you will understand. Worked great for me, and I really liked the pre-saved bookmarks including the dark web address for Facebook. Only thing I didn't like is the button for the settings of the browser which is quite misleading (that button is typically used for saving bookmarks or calling another app)
Useless

Gold security breaks websites so they don’t even properly load and silver has no added advantage over a regular website such as Safari private mode. It doesn’t allow you to bypass YouTube’s age restriction feature and Invidious still requires you to sign in even on the Tor alternative websites. Might as well go back to using Safari’s private mode. At least I got this cool free VPN called Orbot, I doubt it actually accesses your data unlike the other ones as it’s actually supported by the same person who made Tor
Updated browser connects directly?!

I couldn’t believe my eyes when I tapped the onion icon in the top right corner - it showed a direct connection from the browser to the site! Turns out I didn’t have any of the 3 security levels selected. Once I did, a 3 appeared to the left of the address bar. Unbelievable! Who is responsible for updating this browser? The NSA?
- Improved DNSTT shutdown.
- Updated to Snowflake 2.12.1.
