No idea what it is about this specific game but playing it always makes me REALLY sleepy and as someone who’s always had a lot of trouble actually getting to sleep I actually love that about this game because I can play it for a bit before bed and it gets me to a point where I can actually fall asleep quickly.It’s pretty fun as well and while there are packs you can buy with real money none of the paid packs are necessary to play the game and ads aren’t forced on you like other games since you only have to watch an ad if you choose to do so for an extra reward.

It’s a fun little time eater and the art style is cute. The basic functions of the game are quick to learn. The previews provided in the App Store and in ads are not at all like the actual game. There are a tonne of different boxes that appear over the game play area which make the HUD space feel very busy. All the clickable boxes with the different options just get in the way of actual game play. The upgrading/card system makes little sense, but the game guides players sufficiently so it’s not a major inconvenience. Overall it’s like any AFK game, lots to do in early game building to higher wait times so you can leave the game for hours or to encourage micro transactions.

Adverts show you a part of the game you get to enjoy once every week or so. You will also never see anything like that ad gameplay. Similar gameplay is only available after you complete all sections of a mine. Which can take a LONG time when you start getting up in the levels (we’re talking sometimes 5+ days to clear a mine - if you dont want to spend $100 a week that is). Once you have cleared the mine, you get to drive about in a manner similar to the adverts, for 30-45 seconds. Then it’s back to the grind before you can do it again a week later (or however long it takes you to clear a mine shaft). It’s a clone of Gold & Goblins (or G&G is a clone of this, or they’re related somehow?) anyways G&G is more responsive, feels quicker, and is a smaller footprint on your device.

Idle Zombie Miner is a decent little game in its own right. Despite it being a copy of many other “mining’ style games it has a number of additional elements that make it interesting enough to play.There interesting facts:1. It doesn’t have any of the game elements frequently shown in its adds.2. It includes adds which generally take over a minute to get through and there are lots of add opportunities which really slow game play. 3. Most of the adds appear to be click bait, offering products which are way too good to be true. I actually purchased a product out of interest to find it definitely wasn’t what was described in the add. This last point is something to carefully consider for minors. While the adds aren’t negative in any way, they pepper the user for the purchase of promises unlikely to be met. Developers: Want to improve the game? Find a legitimate source of adds!
