This app is really good I'm extremely happy with it. Last year I wasn't eating enough at all and was extremely underweight or I would overeat. With BitePal I've learned a lot more about what to do and how to eat I successfully gained 11 kilos after 10 months of having bite pal while also maintaining a healthy weight and body. Overall BitePal is a great app its less popular then others but I believe it's the best for calorie counting and if you have premium learning about the foods even without premium it still states what you need to do I'm definitely recommending this app to others.

I like that I can snap a photo or just type it in and it gives me an estimate (no calorie tracker is truely ever accurate). And when working with AI, you are going to be working with estimates as there are variations between products. What I wish it did though was tracked different features like sugar intake, which is a big focus for me. It also gives you feedback overall, like your protein is low or fibre is low etc. but I wish it did a weekly wrap up so it would look at your long term trends and give the week summary. Such as noticing if you tend to eat more sugar in the afternoon or night, or you eat way more calories on the weekend. This would help make more long term positive changes than just day to day.

Great app but have some ideas

This is a great app and it’s helped me to eat healthy and not overeat or not eat as much as I should and also helped me to learn what foods are healthy, but I have an idea, sometimes when you are on the go, it can be hard to open your phone and then open the app, so I think they should make a widget avalible on the lock screen so you can click it and be able to use it fast and easy! It’s also helpful when your in situations like school or at an event where you can’t really use your phone in the open

The portion sizes are never that they actually are and the calories are always different on the app than on the package of the product. I think they need to train the model or let it have access to real food data so if there are reoccurring products they can be more accurate. I even took a photo of the actual calories written on the back of the single serve product and it still gave a completely different guess.Also they always give you a poor food rating whenever you eat any form of carbs such as breads. The app is good enough to start but it’s not accurate enough to be a reliable diet.

The portion sizes are never that they actually are and the calories are always different on the app than on the package of the product. I think they need to train the model or let it have access to real food data so if there are reoccurring products they can be more accurate. I even took a photo of the actual calories written on the back of the single serve product and it still gave a completely different guess.Also they always give you a poor food rating whenever you eat any form of carbs such as breads.
