Compared to The Room, this sequel is bigger in every way. Before, there was just one box on one table, and a series of letters from one scientist - but in The Room Two there are multiple locations and the chance to explore them more fully, and there are also letters from other people. The graphics and sounds are more breathtaking than ever. However, the storyline is not as good as it was in the previous game. It's just as tense, but too vague and unfocused: the singular journey of discovery in the first game was far more captivating. The puzzles were superior too, mainly because they were more of a challenge than they are in this game.Overall, I would consider The Room Two to be on par with its predecessor. Better in some ways and not as good in others, but still a masterpiece. I hope to see a third instalment for this amazing series.
An absorbing experience

Room two is a beautifully written piece of gaming software, totally absorbing in it’s strategy. The puzzles are difficult enough to keep you enthralled yet not so difficult as to encourage you to surrender. The graphics are nothing short of brilliant and were incredibly smooth when moving around inside the game, the detail was very fine.If I have any criticism, it would be the zooming in and zooming out to look at objects or to carry out actions. I think tapping the screen to zoom in is great but having to pinch for zooming out is a real pain and quite frustrating at times.Overall I give this game 8/10 and highly recommend it to lovers of puzzles.
A good sequel

Having played The Room and then The Room Two in quick succession, I would say the first one is very slightly better in terms of gameplay. Just OCCASIONALLY in this sequel you end up playing "find the puzzle" instead of "solve the puzzle", because instead of one table with one box you can have several areas in the one room to play with. But that's the minor price you play for a more expansive world. And the (still just as excellent) hint system saves it from ever becoming too frustrating. The graphics and the way that the puzzles react when you solve them are every bit as polished as the first game. The expanded nature of the rooms does also enable some new mechanics and puzzles that are a bit different from before (working with mirrors was a touch I particularly liked). This is a sequel, not a re-run.Overall if you liked the first game, this is well worth your time.
So much fun

I grew up playing games like Myst and other puzzles that gave you very little direction to solve them. As a child it drove me mad, but now I truly see the joy in them and this was an utterly delightful return to that time. A few years back I played through Mind: Path to Thalamus, and this felt very much like that - lots of beautiful graphics, an effective soundtrack that was atmospheric and creepy but never intrusive, and some wonderfully logical thinking required. I rarely pay for games but after the trial of The Room, I bought it, finished it in a day, and immediately bought this one. Will definitely be purchasing The Room 3. Fantastic job guys, please keep developing solid content like this! :)
