I started using this app in Australia and I was sceptical about what I’d experience. I’ve been using it for almost a year now I’m really remote areas and I’m finding trails everywhere as soon as I hit regular hiking areas. I’ve also realised more recently that it has a whole bunch of features I didn’t notice at first like the ability to geo-tag photos and record trail progress. I now use it when I’m trailrunning to track elevation, speed and progress at the same time as checking I’m heading in the right direction. Naming and saving trails is also easy and quick. Just make sure you download all the maps of the area you are on your way to visit BEFORE you get there so that once you lose phone reception and the satellites kick in, you’ll have detailed maps for reference. 😉
Excited to see a Mapping APP that shows contour lines & elevations

So far with only a week’s use, I have found this APP to be very useful. The different renderings I am yet to decide among them which is my favourite.The best feature is having contour lines and peak elevations. This is missing in most other mapping software that I have come across. The extents of the maps I am yet to reveal but they seem to cover everywhere that I have looked so far. Tootling around town with my maps projected onto my Polaris CarPlay works great. Unlike Apple maps where the roads are a faint grey, here you can choose a rendering that shows important roads in a dull orange which stands out clearly.Well done to the developers who put this together.Rarely I rate anything 5/5 but this one gets the prize.Note 3/12 laterThis product continues to impress, even the entry level version. Contour lines make this a stand-out product.

I have been using topo maps for about 8-9 mths now and it has been an excellent land navigation tool and a very ease app to play with. I am a member of the Phuket HHH and this is reflected in my nickname. I love walking and running and especially finding new exciting places for my running club to explore. I am one of many who set the trails for others to follow. Topo maps has made my work in the field and back on the desktop so much easier. I plan to use for many years to come and look forward to more great ideas and upgrades. It looks like a really solid tool for people who live in USA, Canada and NZ; but if you want to use it outside of those countries you’re stuck with the world map. Unfortunately there just is not enough landmarks and features on the world map to make it a reliable navigational aid. I’ll happily revisit this review if the developer can partner with an Australian map provider.

Team map layers
• Team owners and admins can now let members show the team as a read-only layer on top of My Data or another team. It’s a good fit for clubs and organizations that share a map of trails, hazards or points of interest. Turn on “Members Can Show as Map Layer” in Team Settings, then pick the team in Map View under Team Layers.

• Full support for iPhone Duo’s inner and outer displays, including tabletop mode, cards that stay clear of the fold, and a route builder that keeps working when you fold or unfold.

• New Snap: Waypoints mode for routes and regions. Tap your waypoints to connect them with straight lines, landing on each waypoint’s exact location.
