The morning of October 6, 1981, began like any other: waking up from a restless sleep, preparing for the day ahead of you and driving to the ranger station where you've worked for the past 11 years. Aurora Hills was once a tranquil community nestled within the mountains of Appalachia, but a series of disappearances have all but shattered the serene atmosphere. Only a feeling of desolation permeates the surrounding as you drive through the now dilapidated small town.
Jen wasn't at the ranger station when you arrived that morning. Being the only other park ranger, she likes to get an early start to the day and by the time you arrived, she had driven to one of the many closed off hiking trails to start searching for the missing people. Following her trail of notes, you make your way off the main trail to meet up with her to explore the remote parts of the national park. When you find her camp however, your worst fears are realized: The site's been ransacked, her equipment strewn across the campsite, her tent's been torn up, and Jen is nowhere to be seen.
There's no time to turn back now, it's already midday and the sun sets early this time of year. The only thing worse than wandering into the forest alone is braving it at night. You can't abandon Jen now, not when the trail is so fresh. Now you have no choice but to venture deeper into the uncharted parts of the national park, the parts mythologized into local urban legends by frightened townsfolk. You'd better leave soon, you may never get a better chance to uncover the dark history of Aurora Hills...

Loved this game, the story, the adventure and searching for clues. The clues weren’t too hard, tho there was a normal or hard version. Not sure about the hard version but I picked normal where you could pass or get hints. I don’t like struggling if I can’t guess a puzzle, I rather just move on. The first Chapter of this game was free, the 2nd only 5.99 and well worth the price! Can’t wait for chapter 3. Been loving the story and the mystery. Seems like I have played all their games, so hoping for more! :-)

What a great game, I love the cliffhanger and has gotten me so intrigued, and those puzzles are so week made and got me thinking really well, the only puzzle that didn’t make sense was the cogs to move the crane (there was apparently only one solution even if other ways could have worked). And there is still some stuff that is left a mystery that I hope will be explained next chapter. But this game is so fun to replay and is worth the wait.One more thing, It’s okay if you don’t want to say this yet but I was wandering if chapter 3 is going to be the final chapter or if there will be a chapter 4, I don’t mind if you don’t want to say yet, I’m might just be a little bit curious.Thank You.

I believe there is only one solution to the cog puzzle, as both of the final gears need to spin a certain way, however i could be wrong and we will definitely look into it, so thank you for bringing that to our attention! I’ve played all the previous NovaSoft games and they’ve nailed it again. Some complex puzzles that had me stuck for a while, but overall loved the world they’ve created. Side note: my original review thought there was a glitch with the shovel but I hadn’t found the photo yet. Great response from the developer so not only great creators, but great communicators as well.

I really enjoyed Aurora Hills 2. The artwork is beautiful and creates a really immersive atmosphere. The puzzles are engaging, some are definitely a bit tricky, but that just makes solving them more satisfying. My only complaint is that it felt too short. I’d happily play more, hopefully there’s another instalment coming.
